Who liked the begining music in the Pod cast?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:44 am

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/podcasts/archive/2011/02/03/toddhowardse.aspx.

At first I thought it was Morroinwd. I swore the first 5 seconds was the Morrowind theme music, then sort of went into Oblivion style, then the grunts. I listened to it 3 times, and I like it. Maybe once accustomed to it, it could be epic like Morrowinds was. I just need to hear the full verison.

So what do you guys and galls think of the music that was played in the begining? I don't know if more is played later in the podcast going to listen to the rest now. Just so inspired by the music I wanted to see what others thought of it.

Hmm now that you mention it- i didn't really liked it.
Not that it was bad or something..it was kinda "overepic" so to say..

Dunno, just my opinion.

That's the official Skyrim theme, but not the whole version. We haven't been given the whole version yet, though we have heard snippets of new audio in the Sounds of Skyrim GI feature.

But yeah, I like it a lot too.

We've already heard part of the same theme song in the teaser trailer and the Sounds of Skyrim video, and as has been said, it seems that it's the Skyrim theme, and yes, I like it, it's just hard to resist some good http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/OminousLatinChanting in a soundtrack for me (Use of actual Latin optional, in this case, I understand it's supposed to be the draconic language.) and it's where the chanting starts that it really gets me. I'd say it gives me reason to be optimistic about the game's soundtrack, but since I am quite fond of Morrowind's theme and Oblivion's but found the rest of the in-game soundtrack somewhat underwhelming, I can't really say that.

I'm assuming that the music that plays at the end of the podcast will also appear in the game too.

How have you guys not already heard it? It's the music that was in the official teaser, plus it's a bit of a stripped down version that was in the Sounds of Skyrim thing.

It's great, Soule does an outstanding job with the music as usual.

The song is better heard at loud volumes, with an audio system capable of really pumping out the bass. The extra bass is important, and the bassier the better, until you can literally FEEL the drums in your chest.

I was trying to figure out if the music at the end is part of the same song. If you listen to the very end of it, you'll hear the drum beats that sound like they match up with the theme we have all come to know already.

You can hear the beginning in the sound article on gameinformer.
For me it's the best version of the main theme, followed very closed by Morrowind's version. I like Oblivion's one less, but it was still cool.
It's good to hear chants like that for a change =]

Thought it was an amazing intro. I loved the music at the end better... Pretty sure this is the music we will be hearing while we explore the world.

That is the most epic theme song I have heard. This totally tops Morrowind's, and that was my favorite until now :D

I want to hear the one in the sounds of skyrim video. (It has the original themes inside and it weaves in and out of the new theme>)

Considering it's the Skyrim theme, the theme to a game where you have to stop a the dragon-god Alduin from eating the world.... I think it's appropriately epic. And the other part Mark Lampert showed us in the sounds of skyrim video brought back that sense of exploration and adventure from the Morrowind theme. I think in full it will be my favorite yet.
