Who is more interesting as a companion, Piper or Serana?

I don't think that's a fair comparison. I think Curie is closer to Serana than Piper, but that still isn't a fair comparison. Serana is weaved into the entire plot of Dawnguard. Piper and every other companion (with maybe the exception of Paladin Danse) is kind of just there for the ride.

Cass is your win, and Cait is mine

I don't offend easily(I have some Irish in my tree), maybe since I'm older

hmmmm.... Vampire or Newspaper reporter... I wonder if you put them together would Piper interview Serana? That would make an awesome story, oh wait.

I'm part Irish too, but the stereotype is kind of "stock". It's like "placeholder personality". Yeah, I love Guinness, getting blind drunk and beating folks up.

Yeah, right.

Should've put Father Jack Hackett in the game instead. He'd be awesome, and far more romanceable.
