Who never use fast travel?

On my next toon, am gonna try the no fast travel option. On occasion tho it does need to be used when your companion or horse disappears as it warps them back to your locale. So will only use it when my follower or horse gets bugged.

I've only used it on the rare occasion when I traveled all the way to a location only to have the game crash to desktop on me. I seem to have fixed the crashing issue, though, so that hasn't been a problem anymore.

I wish there was a real "Master" or hardcoe difficulty option in Skyrim which negates all Fast travel and adds item decay (repair) into the game. A "Master" level that does nothing but up hitpoints and damage modifier on npcs is just catering to console players, :whistling:

As for the fast travel, whats stopping you from simply "not" using it?
And since you're going anti against console players I take it you're a PC user?
Then wait for a mod that brings back item decay.

No need for the "Master" difficulty to affect the traveling options or force a mechanic onto people which dislike it.

on my first play through i do, but not after that.

Same here. I tend to walk a lot more on subsequent playthroughs, 'cause I'm not in that rush to see new things.

I said to myself I wouldn't and I wish I could say I haven't but I have in 3 occasions. Though in my defense, that is within 113 hours of game time so it is not to bad :tes:

It just occurs to me that I would probably feel less inclination to fast-travel if the game actually had a proper map: by which I mean a 2D affair such as you had in Oblivion with roads marked on it. The 3D vista is all very clever but is practically useless as a map, whereas I think if I could actually plan out my journey, I'd feel much more inclined to go on foot. I hope this is moddable: an ordinary, stylised 2D map may seem "boring" in comparison, but it actually works!

I walk everywhere, or take my horse. Usually I ride to the nearest town and deposit my horse there before venturing out. You have a lot more interesting encounters when you don't FT I believe. I paid 60 bucks for the game and I'm going to drag it out AS LONG AS I CAN. :)

I'd also love at least some way to toggle a road view on and off. I find that you "can't get there from here" when I'm in a city and trying to travel to another.
