If Crysis 3 features Joe Swanson in a nanosuit, i will personally pay for the develoPment of that game.

Yes I'm psyched but I'll probably be pissed off again once I finish it due to the lack of mods for the next 6 months or so. There is multilayer though......

Edit: Oh god I probably accidentally the whole thread by bringing up mods. *sigh*

And according to the thread right above this one, nanosuit progression saves outside of your campaign so you can go back and play the early levels using your limped out suit. F$@# YEAH!

Just did a full playthrough on Crysis and Warhead, loved all the gameplay options, the weapons feeling, completely open world and beautiful jungles. So now I'm thinking about Crysis 2 and I'm just...

meh.

I put an hour into Crysis yesterday and sure, it's undoubtedly awesome. But I am actually really excited for the new scenery. Now I can play Crysis when I want a jungle to kill Koreans in and a city that I can kill Americans in. And to top it off I can kill aliens in both!

I just don't see the point in having two games with the same setting back to back. I hope Crysis 3 strays from the purely urban environment but I think it's perfect for this multip-platform release

Doesn't have to be the same setting, hell Crysis is as diverse on that as it can be. Jungles, to military complexes, to underground mining complexes, to frozen landscapes, to the inside of a 2km high alien ship, to a small aereal scene, to fighting on the inside of a US carrier. I'm more saddened about the sandbox feeling from the first game not translating completely to the second, wich is confirmed to be the case.

I'm freaking stoked for 3 reasons:

1. Been waiting for this game for 3 years and Crytek's marketing team has done an excruciatingly well done job of giving us zero info for a couple years and then piling on the details in the last two months. Want. Game. Nao.

2. I'm very curious to see how close the dev team got to living up to all the hype. Notice I said "how close", not whether they totally fulfilled 100% of expectations. Very, very few games these days do, so that bar is set pretty low in this industry by default in my opinion. In particular, the things that I want to see live up to the hype firsthand:

o The AI being totally robust, adaptable, unpredictable and challenging. I also want to see the AI scale between difficulty levels like Nathan mentioned in one video. If enemies just have higher health, damage, accuracy and reaction time, I'll be slightly disappointed. Like, -very- slightly. If the AI is good by default, then I'll be sated.

o The graphics actually being a significant step up from Crysis 1. I want better lighting, higher resolution textures, higher poly models, better particle effects, more realistic and less buggy physics, and better fluid dynamics. There's a scene from the trailers where a huge wave of water crashes down the street. I want to open up that level in the editor, scale the time to .1, look at that roaring water up close and be impressed.

o The gameplay being as dynamic as C1. One of the things that got me hooked so badly (to the point where I have played C1 usually for some amount of time every week since it came out years ago) is that it was full of little tricks and nuances that you could exploit. Punching people with crabs, jumping on a roof and punching down to crash everything on someone's head, getting a soldier with a rocket launcher to miss me and hit an explodable objective behind me, etc. I want to see this continued in C2. There need to be small details that can be toyed with endlessly.

3. The last reason why I'm hyped for this game is because I'm a total frickin Crytek fanboy. I love the inside looks they have given us on the development cycle, all the little things they do to improve the game and all the work done on every aspect of the process. From the art direction, to the funny alien mocap clips and weapon bios, to the many (what, probably over a dozen by now?) trailers they have given us to keep us interested with new things to see each week. Before this site got its overhaul, I lurked on crymod for years, experimenting with the sandbox for hundreds if not thousands of hours and creating and tweaking aspects of the game in ways I didn't think were possible in a game editor.

So yeah, Crytek you really set a high standard. I'm totally pumped to see how well you guys did in a few days.

That's because they learned from mistakes they made before Crysis's launch.
