Who reads the books?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 8:22 pm

I am just curious as to how many other people read the books. I read some if they are related to my current quest. Sometimes I will read a book if it catch's my eye, I find this depends a lot on my mood and time of day.

Times I read a book:

1. If its related to the quest Im doing.
2. If its a new one to the series
3. If its a unique book

I've read all books in MW and OB (seriously, ALL of them), but back then I was in school and had time for this stuff. Now I barely have time to play games, so for now I'm just gathering all books in Skyrim that I find and will read them later...hopefully...

I'd say about 75 percent, most of them I know by heart already and though I wouldn't call myself a lore buff I'm really interested in the Lore and print out timelines etc. which I keep in a book. Okay that makes me sound like a creepy old nerd living in his mom's basemant LOL

What interested me the most were the new books which I hunted down like crazy, especially Rising Threat and the Great War as I love Altmer *waits for rotten tomatoes* The only disappointing thing is that that I would have loved to read more about the Red Year as Dunmer are my second fav race. There are some snippets here and there but an account book in multiple volumes would have been great.

Other books I simply read again to see if I have kept up with the lore, I've been out of TES for a year or three and it's good to see that most things I don't get are recent events. I just love the books in TES!

I read every book, I have all Elder Scrolls books on my kindle and love reading them in bed. This is an aspect I really love at Elder Scrolls. Ever since MW. I bought both novels. And I own both Pocket Guides to the Empire in original. :hugs: I am absolutely fanatical about Elder Scrolls books.

I collect them all and throw them in a chest.

I usually dig out stuff that relates to what I'm doing. Like for a quest with the hagravens, I dug out the bestiary book about them first and read that. It adds more depth to the quests if you have a bit of a backstory.

Voted "50%" but really meant "I read most of the ones that I haven't already read in Morrowind or Oblivion (and I even tend to start reading those; I just quit after the first couple pages when I recognize the story)."

I read the occasional book I find; the other books I save for when I finally decide on a house.

I read whatever books are relavent to the lore I'm interested to.
The song books can piss off.

But The Bear of Markarth had something to do with Markarth which I am interested to so I read it.

What do you mean by read? Press E and "read" or effectively read that book with your own eyes? I barely read any books, only journals that help you with quests and for spells or lvl up (xp) only the expensive books :)

Skillbooks, quest related books, location or event related books (provided i recognize them from the title :hehe:) and personal diaries and notes.

BTW, i like how magic skill books now have the magic school icon on their cover, i can avoid unintended skill-ups for schools i don't want to focus. Would be handy if the rest of skillbooks had something similar too.

I read them occasionally, e.g. when the book's title catches my attention or when one is related to my current quest. However, I make sure that I open them all just in case a book triggers a quest, increases my skills or updates my map.

I read some if the books I come across, but far from all. Books that deal with vampires, werewolves and factions are my favorites. Any suggestions(you know, without spoiling where I can find them)?

Ive actually downloaded the full set of books onto my kindle so I read them at bedtime, I find I can concentrate on the stories and information in them better, and leaves me more time to do what I want in the game.

I read the vast majority. Some are very well written and entertaining. My favourite probably is the one a pretentious writer gives you Windhelm asking you to deliver it to the Bard's College, and he's telling you what a masterpiece it is, but when you read it it's full of typos and tense changes, lol.
