Who is still playing?

This may have gotten a bit too sentimental... it sounds like I was talking about my lover.

In a way, you may be!

I used to play Oblivion for about one year, quite a few years ago. Then I switched to MMOs and, evidently, for a long time did not play anything else. Recently though I found the dusty discs and installed the game back on my PC as I remembered I had missed out on a lot of side quests, also I have never previously played at hardest mode. I must say I am still enjoying playing it, despite a lot of familiar content. I have no unofficial addons installed as I have always appreciated the game's graphics as it is.
For me, the game exists for as long as there are undiscovered locations in it, though, so it is true I will not be playing this game indefinitely. Just like any other for that matter:) But tt still looks quite impressive, despite its age.

Still, as much as I like Oblivion, it will never compare to its predecessor:)

I used to be an Oblivion really devoted fan...then i tried Morowind I never looked back.

After i had done evreything in Morrowind i turned to Skyrim i found it to be about as good as Morrowind.

I'll play it now and then cause it crashes less than Skyrim on my Xbox 360. (Don't have any of the patches for Skyrim yet to help it)

Also, I miss seeing "Maglir is unconscious!" message a lot and I miss knocking NPCs conscious in Oblivion. So much fun!

There's something slightly 'rough' about Oblivion I just love - some of the glitches and utterly bizarro NPC conversations are so funny that all it needs is a quick walk around town to amuse myself enormously...

I know. I like the fact that it's not 100% perfect and slick.

I got Oblivion when it first came out. I played it for a week then put it away. A year ago I dusted off the old disc and reinstalled OB. Been playing straight pretty much since. There are a ton of mods that extends it's longevity.

I played it back then in 2006 pretty vanilla, 1 year later I tried it with Francesco's & went through Shivering Isles the first time.
I started a new playthrough recently with MMM, OOO, Supreme Magicka & nGCD leveling system, after I played Morrowind for a long time & also Skyrim before.

But still, the Novice/Apprentice/Adept/Expert/Master magic system is a bit disappointing compared to Morrowind.

Play on and off, a few months in a row and then I don't play for a month or so. I recently found the Hatreds Soul bow for the first time ever and it's great because I never used drain speed before (just try it).

Furthermore, I have created several characters and every time I postponed SI and KOTN so there's lots of new contents for me left to do

I have not played in a while. The last time I updated my graphics card drivers it whacked my color and brightness settings. I managed to fix my desktop and Skyrim settings, but not Oblivion's. When I try to play, the interiors are way too dark, and the exteriors way too bright. The in-game brightness slider does not help. So until I can figure things out, I will not be playing in a while.

I am having a blast playing through the game with no mods. I an really only doing the fighters guild and arena questlines... other then that my char just goes and loots old ruins in his free time. I do a few sides quests from time to time but i only play once or twice a week. so i trying to make the experience last and keep it enjoyible. I have never completed the main quest or SI. so i have a lot of unseen content and after 7 hours im only lvl 4 so im going at a good pace. Still need to start MQ at some point with this char

I'm an Elder Scrolls fan big time. I've been playing since Morrowind, and I intend to get the older versions of ES, such as Arena, Daggerfall, etc. I've recently been taking a break on Oblivion, however, because Skyrim came out. Of course, my attention has turned to that. I wouldn't say I know EVERYTHING about Oblivion, but I have put in over 1,000 hours on more than one character. I'm confident enough to maneuver the world without getting lost or resorting to a map. Unfortunately, college takes up most of my time and I don't have the time to play Skyrim as much as I want, so I still have much to learn. Instead of playing little by little as I can, I instead turned to Let's Plays on YouTube. I want to make a Let's Play for Skyrim, however I am waiting for the kinect feature to come out to enhance my experience. Anyways, it isn't out yet but I am looking forward to it. I am going to start an Oblivion Let's Play today and if any of you are interested in watching, my youtube channel is http://www.youtube.com/faithfulwisdom Please, feel free to check it out, and rate comment and subscribe! Later guys.

Started a new game last week. Tried Fallout 4, I mean Skyrim once again, have 67 hours in a new game and am getting bored.

Oblivion is the best thing Bethesda ever did. They don't know it, but it's true.

I look for the next ES to have better visuals, more sophisticated 'earthy' writing, and even less player character choice and interaction than Skyrim has. Oblivion will always be there, an example of a direction we could have had if enough people wanted it. They apparently didn't, or Bethesda figured out a cheaper way to give them product X.

'Playing'... what was that again? Oh, yeah, I remember, it's that thing other people do in their free time, amiright?

Hmm... can't remember when I was doing that last time, was somewhere like 2 years ago I think, but at least I regularly (= 1 day per month in total, if I'm lucky) manage to get enough free time to do some modding. And this is where it's getting on-topic, it's exclusively Oblivion modding for now!

There's no time to play Skyrim, so I won't buy it, thus I can't mod it... while I'd very well like to... mod it, not play it. I've watched my brother play it on his 360, had to do some minor tasks for him, being the Elder Scrolls veteran in the house, and am not the least impressed or intrigued to play it myself on a longer term. Modding it, however, could be interesting, considering the few interesting new features they gave us... or even the many new hurdles we need to overcome for the most basic of things to work at all... Coming to think of it, the latter always was the most intriguing to me... "fighting game engine limitations since Morrowind" sure could be a motto of mine!

... Oh, well, but that's only dreaming, considering my current amount of free time and the lack of the game itself to begin with.
But yeah, if you like, I'm still... "using" Oblivion right now.
