Who is still playing?

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 4:21 pm

I see it a lot when reading old threads - I'm new, mind you, so reading old threads is like reading a book, so much fun - that people are still active on the forum but stopped playing Oblivion a long time ago. I'm wondering who still plays here? Of course I'm not talking about every day but who is still playing on a regular basis?

I never liked Oblivion and didn't put a lot of time into it, I moved on to other games. However, I reinstalled it recently, downloaded all possible mods and I'm attempting another playthrough - hopefully the mods will make it bearable. The thing is, I never finished - or even started for that matter - the Shivering Isles DLC, and I want to do it now.

I play almost every day.

You'll find a few people here who don't play much any more, but who remain for the conversation, and there are a number of people on these forums who are more into modding than playing. But, for the most part, the active posters on this forum are also active players.

I'm happy to hear! I'm a big fan of Oblivion and roleplaying in particular, and I'm happy that I found a community who shares the same interest. I was active on another forum before but they didn't really like to roleplay. I'm sorry for my English though, as you might be able to tell it's not my mother tongue!

You speak/type better than many others here in English-speaking land. Many others.
*Raises hand. Me too!*
I divide my time between Oblivion and FO3, with some shooters.
I don't play the game anymore. My characters just live in it... with an RP of course.

:wavey: over here! I still play!

Oblivion is one of my favourite games ever, of course I still play it. I don't abandon favourite movies just because new movies are made, well it's the same with games.

I will always play Oblivion! Love this game. Been playing for 5 years and I'm not stopping anytime soon. And when I get a computer than can handle the game, I'm gonna buy it again and try mods!

My character and I don't travel Cyrodiil every day. We might miss a day or two each month, but after several years I figure that's pretty good.

Still playing, just not as often. My characters want way more time than they're getting.

Took a nearly month long sabbatical to play Minecraft earlier this year, but am back back in Cyrodiil once again. Recent sessions don't come as often or last as long as they once did, but that's largely due to poor health and not waning interest in the game. I do, admittedly, still launch Minecraft every now and again and run an occasional Daggerfall session.

As we can see, one good game does not exclude other good ones. I play Fallout 3 as well but I don′t RP in it one bit. I only play it because of its fun-ness. Oblivion is a game I/my character live in and is a whole other matter :tes:

After putting down my copy of Oblivion for the 360 two years ago I have always wanted to come back. So after an on again off again affair with Skyrim I decided it was time. I just finished installing and Modding it on my not so new computer, and so far things seem okay. The lands of Cyrodiil are absolutely beautiful with a little help and I think I will be staying for a while!

Always end up coming back to Cyrodiil. After my little adventure in Skyrim I think I needed some Cyrodiilic brandy to get rid of the ice. So yeah still here, still playing

I treat FO3 differently, too, although I do role play it. I only have two long-term characters there. Starr is my straight-shooting small-gun hero, who has done the main quest (and nearly everything else on the "good" side.) My other character is Dertgerl, who has never touched the MQ since leaving the vault. Dertgerl has been around since FO1. She's my favorite character I've ever played in any game. Imagine a female Clint Eastwood, complete with cigar: That's Dertgerl. :)

In Oblivion, she would have to be an Orc.

I've "finished" the game in early 2007. By "finishing" I mean completing MQ, factions and the quests I could find. After that, I started many characters, but I don't think I've hit 50 hours mark with any of them.

Skyrim is on hold until the DLC is released so I reinstalled Oblivion two days ago after a year away to play aspects I missed out on the first time round. Despite multiple playthroughs of Morrowind and Oblivion this will be the first time I pick up archery and join the Thieves Guild/Dark Brotherhood, Skyrim showed the error of my ways. I'll also be adding many more mods than before, previous I ran a minimally modded game. I even made my own yesterday for the first time and will be looking into that further. After 6 years there is still plenty on offer, I expect many more returns to come with new adventures each time.

Anyone else start a new game in Oblivion after Skyrim and try to catch that blue butterfly just outside the Prison Sewer Exit? I was ready to chase the bugger across Cyrodiil before I remembered that it wasn't possible here.

Lol. I’m kind of the opposite. I started many short run characters early on. Then on April 19, 2009 I met my current one and have never looked back.
