I voted Orc. It's no contest, Nords are far to civilized to go toe to toe with an Orc in terms of barbaric nature.

When comparing barbaricness, you don't get any more barbaric than an Orc. They used to be monsters in the series, and that's no coincidence. It's a no contest for me.

Nords are more popular, especially now, and people think Orcs are ugly and unappealing, so I feel like personal favoritism is coming into play here.

Asking that on Skyrim forums. Of course people say Nord. I also say Nord, but not because of Skyrim. I say Nord because the Orc's greater power svcks, they get knocked down after every hit with their Berserker power. The Nord's greater power may not be "barbaric", but it is actually useful.

Well, to me Orcs are definitely more 'savage', however that's not the same as being barbaric. Iunno, maybe I'm just weird. I also like Nords more, have liked em since Daggerfall.

Bah! Can't judge the barbarity of an entire race based on the Greater Powers of a game. If in-game Orcs decapitated people on a daily basis and ate their brains and used their skulls as cups to drink blood out of, and in-game Nords had tea parties all day but the Greater Powers remained the same, it wouldn't even be a competition.

Eh, I don't know. I guess Orc's are probably more barbaric, but definitely not more useful. Nord's are some of the most useful races, along with Dumner, Breton, and Redguard. Rarely play as another race, because they tend to specialize too much, Orc's are undeniably specialized, pure combat. Wear an Amulet of Blades and a Ring of Iron Fist, and an Orc is basically useless. Same applies to spell absorption stuff against pure mages.

Then yes, Orc's are more barbaric. But this section of forum will be biased, since Skyrim is home of Nords. Yeah, I can much easier imagine an Orc gnawing on my bones then a Nord.

wow actually i had to think about that one... i chose ~~nord because they just remind me of vikings. and vikings kick major butt.~~ good question though!

Edit:I changed my vote to orc. Way more savage and barbaric when I thought about it more.

Considering that is what they pretty much have been doing for 4000 years due to continued genocidal persecution from the redguards, bretons, and Tiber, it is very easy to see an orsimer gnaw on a bone for surviving just a day.

If the question had been "Which is more barbaric?" I would have voted Orc. The question is however "Who is the better barbarian", and the answer to that is Nord. Orc Barbarians in lore don't use armor or even much clothing - but Nords, although equally proficient, also have brains and wear light armor.

Eh....a nord is more likely to run around naked. The orsimer can make armor out of anything (mainly because they had to), and have created armor that nearly surpasses any armor made, while being lighter in weight than most heavy stuff.

Also, the orsimer, specifically the females, are smarter than nords. Don't believe me? Look at their stats in both games. Orsimer just tend to be slower, slightly weaker, less charismatic (well, the females at least), and less agile than nords.
