Who is the better choice for Skyrim in the long run? The Sto

Imperial Soldiers are one thing, I'm more worried about the nobles of Cyrodiil. There's little doubt in my mind the Thalmor are lining their pockets with gold for their affection.

I doubt those nobles have much pull on The Emporer's actions, though.

EDIT: My main reason for hating Ulfric is actually because of that speech he makes when you first enter his hall; he talks about how hes fighting for those who have died and blah blah blah, but all he is doing is getting more people killed. I found it very hard to take him seriously after that blatant hypocrisy.

This is true, but The Emperor isn't exactly in shape to do any ruling, and we have no idea if his replacement will have a backbone or not. Personally Titus Mede II came off to me as a tired, broken down husk of a man he once was, but thats a whole other matter.

I haven't spoken to him; I refuse to touch the DB questline on account of how hard it is to take them seriously compared to the Morag Tong and Daggerfall's DB.

Well, they're closer to the Morag Tong or the old DB in this iteration than Oblivion's (at least at first), but your complaint is still justified.

I think the Imperials probably hate the Thalmor more than the Nords. After all, it was Cyrodiil that the Thalmor attacked during the Great War. And even the Imperials that think that peace can be established with the Thalmor will side with the rest of the Imperials when Imperial-Dominion relations break down.

It's a real shame you can't show Ulfric and Tullius the Thalmor Dossiers: the revelation that the Thalmor orchestrated the Stormcloak rebellion and have been working to weaken Skyrim could be sufficient to invalidate the terms of the Concordat.

The Empire doesn't want the Concordat invalidated. They want the peace to last as long as possible.

They also don't want a civil war in Skyrim or Thalmor conspiracies to weaken the Empire, those aren't conductive to peace either.

True, but if you would ask the Empire right now what to do, destroy the peace treaty and stop the civil war, or continue the civil war and uphold the peace treaty. I think they would choose the latter. Also, Ulfric would likely deny all accusations. I still believe he's in it for personal glory as well and he won't get glory for surrendering.

I believe he is completely power-mad but it isn't for personal glory. It's a vengeance thing. I'd say he's extremely ticked off at the thalmor after their session. His ego took quite a beating there and it's time for retribution.

The Stormcloaks. The Empire is going to crap, and it would likely try to svck all of Skyrim's resources before it collapses. It already proved it cares more about Cyrodiil when it forced the Nords to defend the Imperial City, letting The Reach fall apart.
if the nords didnt help defend the imperial city the empire would probably be ruled by the thalmor, and the stormcloaks cant defeat the thalmor if they almost defeated the empire
