There were others as well. Bethesda did not just come along and save Fallout from the garbage bin. Interplay had an auction for it.

Either way its said and done with so they saved it...

That is an opinion not a fact. If Bethesda was the only one that offered Interplay money for it then it would be a fact that they saved it. Since others wanted it, including the original devs of Fallout, then its debateable that Bethesda "saved Fallout."

Troika Games - consisting of the devs who invented Fallout. For example.

Oh man, you just made me think of Arcanum for some reason. :(

I agree dood. Troika, hell even even Bioware was bidding for it. Even though Bethesda brought attention to Fallout yet again, it still doesn't excuse some of the crap stuff they did afterwards(read - I am a realist, not a hater dear Ace).

The canon ending is the only thing that is important. Most of those slides will be thrown out. All but one of those endings will be throw out. Question is when will this happen??????? No one knows........

No thats not whats important.

Enjoying the game is what is important. IF they are ever going to talk about the NCR ever again we have to know what happpned. If they dont tell us, but the next game is the NCR in Arizona we can then assume that the NCR won the Second Battle with the help of the Courier.

The multiple endings are not pointless, they have to ahve an ending and the other endings are for your enjoyment.

Go back adn play CoD with its one ending. Sheesh.

I always think of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzYmQyHl2bc and how it never happened, when speaking of Troika and Fallout. :sadvaultboy:

I dont see multiple endings as pointless, thanks to that we can speculate about them, suggest some things and etc. But when it comes to canon, the devs are the ones who decides what is canon and what didnt happened

Back to cod again........... Its either your way or cod lol no in between

I ve played rpgs that have the main morality problems in the middle of the game. You had to pay later for the choice you made, but the ending was the same either way. RPG does not have to have 75 endings to be an rpg.
Im just pointing out that the lack of a few logical options and flaws in the endings made it feel cheap to me. One of my buddies that I turned on to fo3 played nv. He said he was liking nv more than fo3. Then when he got to the endings he didnt like them either.

Im not the only one that feels this way. Just because I like to know what happened right away does not mean I should go play cod

Styles well played on the bos thing. He would have got them that way. I still think I should have been able to tell him I wasn t going to do it.

I know what you mean, but what they did do, was a very good thing and made the game fun.

Not all RPG's need alot of different endings, yes, but Fallout does because that is kind of Fallout tradition. Only Fallout 3 didn't have multiple endings (I don't call that what it had for multiple endings, it was the same ending, same things happened whatever you did, but Ron Pearlman said it a bit differently)

Also, a forum is a place where you discuss, debate and speculate about things at. If Fallout had one solid ending like most other games, you don't really have much do debate and speculate about. I mean, Fallout 3, you can speculate a bit about what happens afterward, it was kind of a mystery, then came Broken Steel and changed that and broke it, and now there aren't really much to speculate because "you saved the wasteland once and for all", and the big evil Enclave is gone forever. It's just those Vault 87 mutants that are left whcih BoS does nothing about even though I told them about the vault. I thought and speculated about, before Broken Steel, that after the ending the BoS would go take care of them. I also thought that the Enclave would withdraw to other goals after such a defeat and after I let Col Autumn go, and I thought that the water purifier and that I let Harold blood even more that the wasteland would be green! But nothing changes after the end, it angers me. The ending doesn't even tell if that is a possibility in the future, the ending doesn't tell anything about the future, just that either you were good or you were evil, and you either went in yourself or sent in Sarah. Like I didn't know that already.

/end of rant

Edit: Oh, and for the record Rook, I love Fallout 3

SO hasving multiple endings is a good thing. Just because they have to establish a canon does not mean that those other endings are worthless. Sheesh.

I m not going to argue about it anymore I hear what you guys r saying. I just feel like I watched 2hrs and 30mins of a 2hr and 40min movie, because someone cut the power.

I see why you like them........I don t agree.......but I won t argue anymore in this thread about it.

maybe another time........

It in no way means I should go play COD. I m retired from cod ..... Who gets cod for 1 player anyway??? Unless they make some changes. Which they won t, because they are making way too much money.
