who wants a demo!

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:07 pm

One map (Container city), a couple of different guns, offline only, no customisation, medium only. You pick a character archetype, faction, class and guns from the 4-8 available. Barebones stuff, with some extras to hook people.

I never got ET:QW, because I played the demo and that was enough for me. So putting that much content in one demo is a bad idea. Also, you want a comparatively small file size so it downloads quickly.

OBVIOUSLY multiplayer. That's where most of the bugs are. They should only have the first mission.

if you didn't "get" ET:QW you may not get Brink, it will have a much better tutorial section (Challenges) but still the same learning curve, for me, an online only demo would be fine

Brink blends multiplayer with singleplayer, so that isn't really valid.

Have you played Brink? Unless you have I won't take that as true, it's the same company, but this is a far more advanced and different game.

+1. Definitely want a demo. This game cannot come soon enough and is easily one of my most anticipated shooters of 2011.

Like I said, A demo is needed. There is much that needs hands on explaining for people to understand that SD is trying to do.

You don't need two maps for that. That one map can be played singleplayer or multiplayer, that's the whole point of blurring the lines.

well it would be good if they had the container city and the airport as a tutorial level

But that only applies to PC...

Hell, it's about time. For some PC exclusive preview stuff in the gaming world.

If there WAS a demo it'd probably be the shipyard.

Care to elaborate your thought?

Because the only founded assumption is Container City, as it has been the Expo Demo.
(The Crysis demo is the Expo Demo as well, btw.)

Personally, i want a demo of the character creator, and like a free-run/1 map of multiplayer dmeo so you can get an experience that would solidify your decision to get the game. i already perordered, but a demo of such would help their sales, cuz a lot of my friends said tehy would get it if they could play a demo, even if just to see the controls. a demo certainly hhelped out bulletstorm.

I say give us a menu where all we can do is browse the menu's. Then it takes FOREVER to find us a game. Once we get into a lobby, a ton of people leave. After another wait, the game finally starts, only to crash your xbox/ps3/PC on the loading screen.

It would be nice to just have container city, med body types and just the basic weapons like a pistole, smg, assault rifle and shotty so you can have an idea for weapons. Then a basic character creator so you have an idea what you can chose from.

It shouldn't be too much of a problem - It's like special ed. kids trying to get into Quantum Physics :)

They're also not really special ed. kids - they're savants, or idiot savants.

Again, the multiplayer = the singleplayer, so it doesn't really matter that much.

I'd like to hear your reasons why you don't like to buy games without demo. Every gameshop I know gives me the possibility to test before buying without an obligation to buy if you test. Or you can hire the game/play with a friend before buying it?

Except with SP you won't be dealing with the netcode to know if the game is well optimized or not. I don't care if gameplay is great with local bots, but if I can't connect reliably and play online then it isn't worth buying.

None of the stores do here with PC games. Before I spend money on a product I can't return, I am going to test it to make sure it isn't just creative marketing and instead is something I would enjoy. I do the same for music and movies. Books are about the only ones I don't worry about, but that is because I get the majority of books from my local library.

I would be happy to just get to play the demo from Eurogamer. I don't care if it is with bots or real people, I just want to play it

Good things come to those who wait.

And brink looks like a very, very good thing.

Should we get a demo. Container city only. Arch types. Both campaigns. Pre made classes featuring one of every weapon (except maybe different types of pistols) and medium build with a limited choice of skills in all the classes. Two.
