I would actually be very keen to be on the other side. Same for Enclave. How come you cannot play for them?
Anyone else?

"Maybe, after I finished the game as the good guy" Ehem... we don't know who the good guy is. Or even if there is a good guy. I more hope it's like in Skyrim without a good and a bad side.
My opinion would be 'Maybe, I want to know more about the factions first.' We already have joinable factions confirmed.
I think the crucial point is the conflict around synths here. In respects to the general default protagonist values suggested by the majority players the Institute is the antagonist. This is because they use synths as slave labor. This has been confirmed in the game. They are the bad guys in that sense, given this opposes the general freedom and democracy ideas...
The whole idea about this poll is whether people would be keen to play the story as the bad guys and not by running a few quests eventually.
Agree.
But I would not mind to play as the Enclave rookie the whole game either. It would a great experience to see the story from their perspective
I hope this sort of choice is not something that is boringly black and white.
I'm curious, but only if the other factions aren't handled as Stupidly Evil.
Do general freedom and democracy ideas appeal for robots too? The Institute can very well be hardcoe democratic... we don't know. Just because they think 'Androids are robots and not human' don't make them anti-democratic and evil. They still could be hardcoe liberals and democrats for humans.
M_Sinistrari , does that mean you would also like to complete the game on behalf of a ultimately evil, story driving, faction?
The poll is kinda weak. Maybe I would join Enclave, but I have no interest in joining the blade runner faction. There is no option to distinguish between the two, so I vote no, seeing how Enclave and Institute are two different things.
Yeah, New Vegas did it right. You could help some of the worst scumbags ever in a video game. Even though I didn't, the option of it adds immense depth.
Why does the poll assume smart people are bad/evil?
Whoops I am remembering FO3s storyline wrong nvm
Yes, though I don't know why you are implying that The Institute are the bad guys? (It's never stated that they are - the only interaction with a person from there happens in Fallout 3 and that's not something you can really base an opinion on (yes, you can speculate, but that's it!))
Still, I would have loved the option to join the Enclave in previous games (that's the only "bad" faction that I would even consider joining - others I don't even think about joining, like the Legion (I hate slavery so I can't join them, I want to wipe them from the face of the earth!)) and I will definitely give the institute a chance (unless they turn out as bad is people seem to think they are) while still investigating other factions, too (BOS, The Railroad and whatever else we are getting - note: Chaotic factions without a plan for the wastes, now those I probably will not join (like say if we get the option to join a faction like The great Khans etc.) as they do more harm than good! Same for factions like The followers of the Apocalypse who have lofty goals but don't want to act decisively - I mean is it any wounder that an ambitious person like Caesar (as much as I hate his Legion and dislike him!) left to get some real work done?)
greetings LAX
I'll play for them. They might not be bad persons... Just pragmatic and uncaring.
We only know three people frome there, two of which are androids. Declaring the whole faction as bad guys based on that guy in Rivet City alone is a bit quick. It would also svck if the guys at the Institute were objectively evil like the Enclave was.
Its not for me but I'd like the option otherwise forever loyal to the Brotherhood Of Steel.
yeah enclave are only good when their dead as for the Institute i tend too shoot the science types in the Head not because they good or evil but because they often step on the little people in the name of SCIENCE!.
