Who wants to see Vivec make a comeback?

Post » Sun May 01, 2011 4:55 pm

Is there anybody who liked Vivec? If so, would you want to see him become powerful again? My opinion is he should stay free, but of course with his power lessened. He isn't so strong after the Morrowind storyline.

Same, I'd rather see more of the TES universe. However I'm hoping we'll get a full TES novel series. I think Vivec's fate and the Nerevarine's journey to Akavir (assuming it's more then rumor) would be better suited for a novel or even series then a video game.

Yeh, pretty much this.

Vivec's too busy enjoying the final AE subgradient beyond Mortal Death to make a cameo in the next ES game.

Even in his weakened state after the destruction of the heart he is still considerably more powerfull than any other mortal, including the Nevarine and champion of Cyrodiill. I believe if he was taken by the Daedra that he went willingly, not against his own will.

No.

He has served his purpose and his body has likely died. Let him become a legend, a shadowy being spoken of in rumor but only known to those who consciously looked. Let new beings take center stage for a while.

I know some people only seem to like TES for him, but seriously, this way he'll be mysterious, luring new fans of the later games into total lore nerddom even before they know it when they try to find information on him.

While it would be interesting it is very unlikely to happen, besides Uriel Septim, Maiq, Ocato and Mannimarco, almost every character from previous TES games is likely to be cut-off, it's sort of the whole "dont leave any trace of the last TES hero" theme that the TES games are famous for.

Lot of characters in TES universe ends up plotting something in otherworldly realms, so why wouldn't Vivec? He's very interesting and powerful character, it would be a shame to lose him.

He's already become more powerful than he was before, so powerful in fact that its unlikely we'll hear from him again for that very reason.

Almalexia, yea, she's dead. Sil however is quite likely enjoying an existence as a god-city.

Now, this begs the questions, will Sotha Sil appear in the form of a giant computer with a face, or http://southparkstudios.mtvnimages.com/images/shows/southpark/vertical_video/import/season_05/sp_0504_14_v6.jpg?width=480?

Vivec as a myth would be much better, maybe spread his sermons and things like that around in very special areas so he can be discovered if it's so important.

Tis a play on names; the name Sotha Sil can refer to Sotha Sil the Triune or Sotha Sil the clockwork city. It's plausible that the latter still exists.
EDIT: Or, it can refer (jokingly, IMO) to the idea that Sil is alive through the city of his own creation.

I think it'd be nice to see references from all past elderscrolls games in the next one. I find that although it is kind of cool that all of the elderscrolls do their own things, it'd be interesting if some plot elements made a return, or if certain characters were recapitulated (i.e. like a certain traveler figure).

Makes you wonder, does the city have some kind of fantasy AI? And if it does, perhaps that's what happened to Sotha Sil himself, that he forced his consciousness from his body and what Almalexia killed was an empty shell that used to house the city AI?

Most of the time when they say someone "Dissapeared in an oblivion relm and never came back" that means their not comming back to TES. :). The problem with keeping them is some people killed vivec in morrowind, and some people can be very complaint(ive?). Which is why their are few characters seen in More than one game and if they are they are easter eggs ( like M'Quiar the Liar )

Both, its a play on words and a nod to the theory that Sil could have uploaded himself into his Clockwork City, afterall his body was pretty much 'plugged in' to its main console...
