I like how you have the details in, however for the darkelf, some bone structure on the face may need some slight adjustments, like racial features that are commonly seen, like the outer eyebrows are rised higher, I'll do a quick visual reference.
never mind, clip2net isn't letting me, all I can say he needs a slightly higher outer brows, and cheekbones, a little more defined cheeks. though I would prefer the Nord, since the darkelf looks too human than Dunmer.
I figured I'd give some suggestions. good luck with it though!
Well, Westly gets all the credit for the original texture, I just fixed the eyes because they didn't look right in the original texture-which is probably my fault partly. I must've not been thinking too much about where my eyes were "pointing" when I choose which picture to send him-if you look at the screenshot on the mod projects download page you can see the problem: http://modprojects.deejaygamer.com/infusions/pro_download_panel/image.php?did=8&pic_id=8
I also just look really tired for some reason. In any case I tried another batch of photos with my digital camera just to get the position of my eyes correct and let me tell that is not easy, especially when you normally wear glasses-trying to get your eyes to "focus" on anything is obviously quite difficult. lol
Another minor problem was the color of my eyes. I'm not sure if it was the particular photo or some artistic license on Westly's part but my eyes are technically a sort of "turquoise" color-or at least more green than blue although it kinda depends on the lighting.
But in any case my point is in terms of making faces I'm much better at retexturing than building a texture from scratch. Also, I supposed I'd probably need to try a different head model to make it look more Dark Elf-ish. I suppose I could just try a random head or two in the Master Head pack and see which one looks best and hope the positioning of the facial details is similar enough that I won't have to try moving a bunch of things around. The current texture focused on the skin, eye, and lip coloration and I think I've done that pretty well. I tried to add some of the details like the little "bumps" and such that seem to be on Dunmer faces but the thing is that most of the male Dunmer heads I found in the MHP are half the resolution of the texture for my face-and actually the positioning of the elements is pretty different as well so that'll probably be a challenge regardless.
So I'm not sure how far I'm going to go to adapt the texture/mesh choice for other races-although it might be a nice challenge if I'm really bored at some point. If anyone would be willing to work on it I'd probably put up the PSD source file for my part of the work on my website as well. Technically however I'm considering using the Dunmer texture for a character in Province: Cyrodiil.
