Who was Moe? R.I.P.

Post » Sun Feb 21, 2010 7:36 pm

I wandered around Scorpion Gulch yesterday looking for a corpse with a laser pistol that needed to be returned to the BOS Bunker. Veronica and I were having a blast wasting Bark Scorpions and the occasional Centaur, then, upon entering VATS with the Gauss, I noticed that the one I was targetting had a name. Moe.
I killed it, no loot, just a name. Why?

Who was Moe? Was "he" important?

He's not important. You'll hear him mentioned if you listen to the Black Mountain Radio signal. Also, strangely, he seems to respawn sometimes.

So...he's like a legendary evolved centaur? Kinda like the legendary radscorp, deathclaw, and cazador?

Is there a legendary nightstalker, radroach, and lakelurk?

I don't think Moe is "Legendary". He certainly isn't dangerous. He seems to be a typical Evolved Centaur, but he just has a name because he's kind of a mascot to Tabitha. Like if you worked on a farm you might have two dozen cows, most of them nameless but also a favorite called Bessie.

I'd love for there to be some huge quest delving deep into the rich and compelling backstory of Moe ... but yeah.

Oh, I didn't see that before. There actually is a Legendary Nightstalker in some cave on the far east-by-northeast of the map. Crimson Cave or something like that.

I presumed he was just a 3 Stooges reference.

Well, the big question that comes to my mind...

Who let Moe out of the pen? Last we heard from Tabitha over Black Mountain Radio is that he was licking the gate because he wanted out. So which smarty-pants super mutant let him out to roam the countryside and get mowed (Moe'd?) down by the locals?

FAVORITE CENTAUR MOE!?! Whatever could he be up to?!?!

EDIT: BTW the legendary evolved centaur is up at the big radioactive crater where you get the Avenger Minigun.

Also there's a legendary Fire Gecko in fire root canyon.

Really there was a legendary evolved centaur in that crater? guess I should go back there and check corpses as for far the wiki doesn't mention the legendary centaur.

Lol I remember killing a legendary nightstalker somewhere....
I also remember there is a "Rodent of Unusual Size" which is an even bigger giant rat which was rather difficult to kill when I was a lowbie trying to get my hands on the Ratslayer :cryvaultboy:

IIRC, Cook-cook the Fiend has a favorite Brahmin named Betsy or something.

As for Moe, I don't think he's anything other than Best Friend Tabitha's favorite Centaur.

And yes, there are Legendary creatures for all hostile species, I think. Cazador, Deathclaw, Giant Rat, and Gecko. Nightstalker and Centaur maybe. May not be Legendary Bloatflies though. Brahmin and Bighorners probably not.

Queenie.

Betsy is the sniper he [censored]. :-/

EDIT: Awkward. Did not realize that that would be censored. Allow me to rephrase: "forced himself on sixually."

Moe has an unlikely best friend, too. A lakelurk named Roe.

Who ever he was, he's dead now. Don't know about the rest of you but I don't really worry about the back story of everyone I kill.

Ah, yes. Now I remember. Feel bad for calling Betsy a Brahmin. :sadvaultboy:

Though, I did avenge her by carving up Cook-Cook. :gun:

I thought Moe was the guy from Fallout 2 who invented Jet? Or maybe I'm mixing up things.

Nor do I.

But seeing "Moe" in VATS made we wonder a little. I never listen to the radio, so I didn't even know that Tabitha talked about "him".

lol, you have his brain in your inventory?

Well, come to think of it, if you hit "Search Moe" and the only thing he has on him is his brain, I guess you'd have to take it. I missed the mini gun, too, so I guess I'm a pretty lazy searcher...
