Who was The Prophet?

Post » Thu May 26, 2011 9:45 pm

In Knights Of The Nine, you are set on your quest by a strange Prophet that first acquaints you with the legends of old and their significance to the reemergence of Umaril The Unfeathered. As soon as you defeat Umaril, the Prophet is gone as quickly as he came. So, my question is: Who is the Prophet, really? Was he an incarnation of Talos, being the one to give you the very blessing of the divinity?

That's the theory.

Each event is preceded by a prophecy, but without a hero, there is no event. - Zurin Arctus

Like wise, without a prophet there is no event. Once the event has happened the prophecy is gone and its prophet is a prophet no more.

In otherwords: not important.

Mmmm...

Wes was the Prophet, right? I'm not really sure about him. He's an okay seiyuu, I guess.

His Imperial voice angers me at times. At times, he's a better person to hear than Wonder Woman.

Most of the time. At times he can be anoying and at other times he can do an amazing job like he did with Sehogorath. He was good, but I still say that Tedders should have done the voice. You know, for accuracy and all.

Ken Rolston wrote Vivec's dialogue, so stranger things have happened.

Well, whaddya know. I thought Vivec was a bit too plain spoken, in retrospect.

Quite ironic considering Vehk himself basically wrote everything else in that game.

MK's style is quite easily recognisable. Whenever the text references something that no information exists on, there you go. "Hollow Crescent Theory", anyone? That and the archetypal Kirkbridean rant.

That being said, MK didn't write as much for the game as Tedders. I mean, look at http://www.imperial-library.info/interviews/tedpeterson.shtml. How much more prolific can you get? However, MK was more instrumental in bringing across the atmosphere of Morrowind, in my opinion. He was a concept artist, after all, and on the design team.

What? No. Unless Mr. Tedders is a good VA, no way. Bethesda already has some trouble with their own constants in OB. We need better and not celebrity "better."

Believe it or not, this was discussed. If my schedule had been better, Sheo's voice would have been mine. Whether that would have been good or not, well, maybe one day we will know ...

I'd love to hear you as Sheogorath in an upcoming game.

Not really much of a consistency issue since the Daedric Princes didn't even sound alike from Morrowind to Oblivion. (And Sheogorath's changed from Oblivion to SI, although for him it's not so strange.)

One day then. I'm still slightly sensitive about Oblivion's VA quality, but you tell me this is the first time they took voice acting in such a scale. But, it'd also be nice if you wrote and let a celebrity you love say it.

The voice over for Sheogorath sounds like Mr. Krabs from Spongebob. That TV show is burned into my brain. My kids love it, so I'm constantly subjected to its idiocy. :(

Not only would it be neat if Ted could voice Sheogorath, Bethesda should also hire MK to do a voice. Who better for some of the Temple or Imperial Cult ideas.

Hehe, no. I still stand that if they have a voice that'd make me swoon, give the roles to more experienced va's.

Just get the guy from E Nomine for Voice Acting.

He sounds like he's got a permanent five o'clock shadow and is 7 feet tall.
