Institute. They might be crazier versions of doctor Frankenstein but it beats joining a bunch of hippies trying to fraternize with appliances. I don't care if it's good or evil, I'm gonna "terminate" any railroad member I run into, even if it's a possible companion and that is the only way I'm gonna play.

1. He was a soldier...whoop de doo. BOS are soldiers as well. One soldier up against soldiers, militia, raiding bands, high tech military security drones, amongst much more.
Being a soldier don't make you special. Just means we get to skip the part where he freaks out over killing someone.
2. He's been asleep for 200. Doing nothing. Am I to be impressed?

The good guys, i always play the good guy in rpgs, they usually get the better side of the content. The one exception is fallout new vegas where i think that the ncr was supposed to be the "good guys", but instead i went with and independent vegas because becoming a king/mayor/immortal god king/whatever was the cooler option

Armitage ;)

I'll decide when I play the game. But right now I'm definitely leaning against the Railroad. I agree with Pinkerton's stance that machine liberation is a waste of time, and I would rather see the Institute utilizing androids that they built themselves than deciding that they need actual human slaves to carry out the same tasks.

Why wasn't Harkness that loyal?

Harkness was stated to be their most advanced synth to date. According to Zimmer, his recently-developed desires to leave the Institute are the result of a malfunction. According to the Railroad, he has simply begun to think for himself enough to want to leave that life behind.
Either way, while A3-21 is not the first android to do this (his job was to hunt other escaped synths) he is certainly not representative of the norm as of 2277. Armitage, and most other androids developed by the Institute, remain loyal as per their programming.

I would much rather have the most advanced Android as a willing follower than the older more obedient models. So I'm pretty much back to square one.

1. 'One Soldier'. My settlements obviously mean nothing. I don't have security.

2. Okay buddy. Let's see you try to sleep for 200 years and wake up then go kick some ass. You can't? Well don't hate, bud. It hasn't even been confirmed that he has been asleep for 200 years. Let's just say time is different the closer you get to the core of the earth, the faster time passes for you... and guess what... he comes out of an elevator. Holy crap... the very first elevator'd-vault entrance. Let's say it gets closer to the freaking core of the earth and artificial GRAVITY AMPLIFIERS decide to I dunno SLOW TIME in the vault but not on the surface?

If Fallout 4 plays anything like New Vegas or Diver gent, I'll be factionless and go independent after I screw everyone over.

According to the Terminator series the older the model is, the more dependable it is. T-800 beat T-1000 and T-X (and most likely whatever the new one is, dont spoil it, i havnt seen it yet) so by that logic i would prefer an old and dependable Android follower rather than fancy new one that isnt all-around tried'n'true

And it's worth noting that the most advanced one is the one that Zimmer claims 'malfunctioned'. Which caused it to betray its creators. We don't know how true this is, as they might've just stupidly built it to be smart enough to learn to hate them, but the possibility is enough to dissuade me from wanting one.

This might be explained by the LEGION NOT BEING IN THEIR HOMELAND and being constantly at war with the NCR in foreign lands. You wouldn't expect Roman soldiers to be fearsome and powerful in China would you?

...actually Roman Soldiers were extremely efficient in a variety of battlefields (not all, but most), just because the Legion traveled a few miles doesnt mean they lose all their strength/stamina/experience

Why wouldn't they be? Based on how much of the world Rome conquered I'd say their skill at adaptation was pretty impressive.

That is not what I meant, What I meant was, the Chinese would not a fear a camp of Roman soldiers simply because they were Roman. Like the original post I quoted, it wasn't a fact of strength or stamina or experience, it's a case of being fearsome and powerful, a few Roman soldiers camping out in the vastness of China would not cause the Chinese to be fearful.

I'm pretty sure that if the Legion launched a full scale invasion on the Mojave with their whole force, nothing would have stopped them and every player would have [censored] themselves. Instead it was a couple hundred Soldiers camped out on a hill, eyes looking towards the Dam. They weren't supposed to be an instillation of fear and power in the whole of the Mojave, they were supposed to take the Dam from the NCR. And in my case, they achieved their mission.

I'll most probably use the wild card, if what the description said about going it alone is true.
