If Oblivion and Morrowind are any indication, I probably won't be finished with the main quest until some time in 2013

I'll be busy playing Skyrim for a while and not Mass Effect, which is releasing on the same day for some reason. .I'll be holding off on that game till christmas most likely.

Sorry, have to add here. No, ME3 is going to come out in the first 3 months of 2012. I have no idea where you were getting your release date info.....

OT: Yet again, I'll state: This forum will be deserted, and no one should come back here unless they want their game ruined. For at least a few weeks, I suppose....

Just use the UESP so you don't have to worry about forum idiots and spoilers.

I highly recommend to anyone who wants to avoid spoilers to stop coming to this forum about a week before the release date. A few days before Fallout 3 came out the forum was bombarded with an entourage of spammers that spoiled the MQ. Almost every single thread in the Fallout forums had the spoilers written in large red font multiple times. It was impossible to avoid.
