Uhm. I still play FO1, FO2 and tactics too and Fallout 3 of course. The fact that new game is coming doesn't count old ones out for me.

I bought FONV and with my dialup connection Steam is preventing me from playing the new version. What it did for me was get me to resurrect one of my FO3 characters and continue to play with that one...

It's not a Steam exclusive title, you'll be able to buy it anywhere games are usually sold. You just need Steam in order to activate it. It's not that much different than having to enter a serial code when you install it really, except that now you need to go online in order to do that. It works almost exactly the same as Windows does if you install it for the first time, except there's no phone in option. If you're going to complain about Steam, at least get your facts straight. I'm not too crazy about the idea of needing Steam either, but at least I've made the effort to understand how it's going to work.

exactly, all legit versions require Steam, it's a Steam exclusive game

I will for 2 reasons!

1. Fallout New Vegas is still broken. So it's no use to play it untill a decent patch comes around...

2. I have already more than 100 hours into Fallout 3 but i still haven't completed the majority of the quests...

Currently Fallout 3 is the game i'm playing again... i try to stick to it but it's difficult considering all those games releasing these days...

I've finished FNV once and went back to FO3. I am not a fan of any fallout episode but I do consider FO3 to be an amazing RPG compared to all others in the market. FNV on the other hand is just an average RPG and a very buggy one.

So, I will keep playing FO3 from time to time until a better RPG comes out.

I spent 100+hrs on fallout 3 and barely touched the main quest, then stopped playing for a while and recently completed new vegas. Now i'm back to finish FO3 once and for all xD.

I already am playing FO3 again as well. I finished NV once (NCR) and am on a Legion playthrough currently, but FO3 is still more fun to me BECAUSE IT WORKS :) but I digress...

I'm going back to have more fun in the expansions and finish getting my achievements. Somehow I missed "Strictly Business," and have yet to get the post-Lvl 14 Evil achievements and post-Lvl8 Neutral achievements. Add collecting alien data recordings and steel ingots and I've still got some time left in DC

I smashed NV into Vault 101 after 3 weeks of straight game time. I'm done with that game for a bit. Back to FO3.

Well, after I'm done playing New Vegas I'm going to start playing Fallout 3 again, the only problem is, I've beaten the vanilla version of the game, then bought the expansions on disc. first disc (Operation: Anchorage & The Pitt) & the second disc (Broken Steel & Point Look-out) and then the 5th installment of the game (Mothership Zeta) which was on a game card. Problem is, after I played through those expansions, I did not play the game for a while. & one day I decided on playing Fallout 3 again with the expansions installed onto it, and the game wouldn't let me. I had to restall the expansions but it still wouldn't let me play. So I might re-play when I get the chance to figure out what's wrong with it.

5 or 6 years ago, NV would have been $30 and an expansion pack.

When NV drops past the $30 mark, I will buy it. Until then, I am still enjoying FO3.

I will, because Fallout 3 is frankly better than New Vegas.

I'm playing Fallout 3 at the moment. I'll play all the add ons as well. This will be the 5th playthrough for me. After that I'll tackle New Vegas!

I will probably get New Vegas once I build my own PC, and they release the game of the year edition so I don't pay more for all the DLC, and it will hopefully be patched well.

Also, now that I hear about the steam requirement I couldn't even if I wanted to. I have dial-up at home so my PC cannot be kept up to date and have up to date protections so it is internet free. Once I own my own PC I have ways of getting it to the local coffee shop to use their WiFi  That is how I keep my laptop up to date.

I think it is ridiculous to require steam for the game to work. A lot of people still have dial-up connections. Some cannot afford high speed, and many areas still cannot get high speed (Especially further away from the big cities).

yeah, the Steam requirement is THE reason I haven't got NV in any form. I can understand them wanting to protect their product, just not from those who would like to buy it.

I played through Fallout 3 once and enjoyed it. I do want to play it again with the GOTY edition to get content I missed. I also want to try New Vegas when the price comes down. Do you think there will be a bundle including both FO 3 and New Vegas? Or should I not bother waiting for that?

I have so much yet to explore and accomplish in FO3, I may be playing this game for 2 more years!! What do you guys think?

I only started playing FO3 this year. I was in the middle of my third run through when FNV was released. I play on the PS3 and FNV is so glitchy it's svcking all the fun out of the game for me. So I think I will go back to FO3 till a patch comes out for FNV.

I'm still discovering new places in FO3, so it's still loads of fun for me. I seem to get more absorbed in FO3 anyway, than I do FNV

I haven't bought FO - New Vegas yet, and likely I won't until a GOTY Edition comes out....all patched up and whatever DLC there has been. I hate buggy 1st releases....

Fallout 3 is my second favorite game (the first being Morrowind) and even though I've played it do death I'm going to keep playing it. And since I'm not going to be getting New Vegas since it requires Steam I have all the more reason to keep playing FO3.

Not until I've finished NV about 6 times.

Both...Yet Fallout 3 until I get New Vegas.

I played Fallout: New Vegas and got bored after about 50 hours. I'm going back to Fallout 3, now.

Well, I am still playing it as I just bought the GOTY version. I was borrowing it from a friend of mine and decided I would just buy it.

One reason I just bought this is because I have been limiting my game spending. One day I will probably pick up NV, but only if I have the money and stuff then.

I'm still playing FO3 and is much better than FNV. FNV lost the feel of apocalyptic sense, no random counter, no bobbleheads, and no more interesting to playing through again..
