Who would like to see the Legion return in future titles?

Lemme just say, I think the Legion are amazing "antagonists." I'm not saying they should return as they are in New Vegas, the status quo completely in tact. I'm just saying that rather than hearing "after Caesar's death, they fell apart within 24 hours and no one remembers them," I'd like to see them return, still fighting and still in some way holding onto the "nation" they had during Caesar's rule.

I just find the Legion to be an interesting "villain" in that typically, the villain of games is this outrageously overpowered force that'd be difficult to stop. In actuality? The Legion are, in many ways, the underdogs. They don't utilize tech as much as their opponents, they shun medicine and they specialize in melee combat. Then what's the Legion's main strength? They adapt. The Legion's main strength is that they're the only ones to truly acknowledge and face the challenges of the post-apocalyptic wastes instead of clinging onto old tech for survival. Aside from, say, the Gun Runners, no one else has a long-term solution; even the Followers admit medication is becoming an issue to provide.
In that sense it's this interesting juxtaposition where the "villains" are arguably the most qualified to survive. They beat Rangers and Brotherhood Paladins simply because while the former two rely on advantages to survive, the Legion relies on loads of experience fighting uphill battles to overcome any and all odds. For all the weaknesses they have within the tools they typically utilize, their strengths are that they're simply better, faster, stronger and wiser when it comes to combat.

At any rate, I'd hate to go back to having some typical villain that's truly powerful as all hell and we're the underdogs. It just seems so cliché to have good-guy underdogs these days, I think the Legion are a breath of fresh air and beautifully written.

So what say you all? Would you like to see the Legion return? Perhaps not in their entirety with Caesar and all as they are now in New Vegas, but in some way, shape or form see remnants of their culture and nation still alive and kicking for NV2, FO5 or what-have-you?

Of course.
To kill off such an interesting faction after one game would be a stupid idea.

Totally, and then bring up some faction that was supposed to die out years ago, which is then stupidly brought out of nowhere.

I feel an interesting Legion to see would be one in the middle of a succession crisis, or just any type of civil war really.

I think we're all sort of hoping for a House or Indy victory that leads to civil unrest within the NCR and Legion. Hell, tbh? I won't care if they never declare House or Indy as canon and just say "Vegas won it's independence" and never clarify who now leads it. The important thing is we need to shake things up a bit, but we don't neccesarily wanna see the NCR and Legion just die off like the Enclave; make it a slow burn. There's plenty of potential for civil wars within California, and the Legion itself could have a clash of ideals, with a side that seems to be more in line with Caesar's ideals, and another that's like Lanius and simply glorifies Mars, God of War. Hell, it'd be interesting to see if they somehow brought back Joshua Graham, for example. In the "ruthless Joshua" ending it makes it sound like he's forming his own damned Legion up in Utah, whereas the pacifist ending doesn't mention him at all, giving them room to do whatever they like with him.

We want new ideals at war, but not neccesarily all-new faces, because that's just unrealistic for such major powers to disappear in the blink of an eye. Let's see how a loss at the Dam transforms these two and creates unrest within their own borders.

The second largest known Wasteland faction that is taking on the NCR... Of course I want to see more of them. Hopefully more fleshed out next time.

Yes, one thing that bothered in NV was the lack of Legion content compared to other major factions.

I can't see the Legion surviving beyond Caesar. The entire Legion is built around a cult of personality and there's no infrastructure in place to keep the Legion going after the death of it's leader. Once Caesar dies, it will simply degenerate and fragment into different factions and they will most likely revert to their previous tribal identities. I voted no but if they manage to make their existence plausible and interesting, then I'd flip my vote.

Caesar is the Legion, the Legion is Casear.

Since the ending of New Vegas is variable, we don't know what shape the Legion will be in after the Battle at the Dam, Part Duex. But, it matters not as Casear is going to be dead, one way or the other, within a year of the battle. With his death, the Legion will fragment and disintegrate. Happens when you have a Cult of Personality and the leader dies.

I agree The Legion will fragment, it just depends into how many pieces (side note the Roman empire once had 7 people claiming to be emperor and with the force to back-up their claims). Personally I feel they're might be 5-6 groups max

1. Lanius & followers
2. Vulpes & the Frumentarii
3. The slaves
4. Tribes trying to gain independance
5. Lucius & the Praetorian Guard (although since they were picked due to loyalty to Caesar they might just join Lanius as he is rightful heir)
6. Joshua Graham (possible but unlikely)

And now I have the Cult of Personality song stuck in my head, thanks guys.
I seriously want to see the rest of the Legion lands, the part that is not in war. I also want the Legion to have taken NV...

Definitely but id like to seem them in a more vulnerable, less dominating position collectively. Like maybe with Caesars death now the high ranking officers/Legates that might have had dissenting opinions on Caesars leadership and methods form splinter groups. I was going somewhere relatively interesting with that but its flown the proverbial coop now. Like maybe there was a member/members of one of the tribes Caesar assimilated was biding his time to overthrow/assassinate him because of some event/circumstances surrounding the assimilation/slaughter of the New Canaan tribes. Forgive me if this is a bit whimsical and vague as im not very hip to Legion lore/canon. Id just like to see their collective power/influence in diametrical opposition to that of NV. Theyre hunted like Nazi war criminals all over the Wasteland. Furthermore, now some of them have set about atoning for their atrocities and are trying to start a new identity but are cut down anyways as penance for their violent past. Perhaps the NCR forms a unit dedicated to hunting down and eradicating the remnants. Example:if you talked Lanius, down he goes,on to lead a more passive, compassionate life somewhere. He goes,by his real name(or a different one altogether) but constantly has to be watchful of vengeance seekers and bounty hunters. Kinda like Will Munny in Unforgivable. IIll stop ramblimg
