Ian McShane and Sam Elliott are two names to maybe throw into the hat.

Voted "other". Gotta go with Christopher Walken.

Tim Curry. Modified a bit, and his laugh would destroy Skyrim indeed.

What about Frank Welker? Hes voiced tons of excellent villains throughtout his career like Megatron from Transformers or Dr.Claw from Inspector Gadget.

woot!, he also was the voice of the dragon Tiamat in the the D&D animated series.

O.o tiamat is a female dragon, in 'real' mythology anyhow.

but any one of these guys would be a good dragon really. someone who sounds deep & rich & exotic. unless they go with a more 'reptilian' hissy, higher pitched sound I guess. I voted for Sean Connery, just 'cause I loved that one movie he played a dragon in.

If you're going to name vocalists of death metal bands, might as well figure this guy into the equation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-zGC-WIg0Y

Jan-Chris De Koeijer

As for female dragons, they could probably sound like the singer of this band here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxPzbxewjuU

Her name is Rachel Van Mastrigt-Heyzer.

lol, both are dutch.

Maybe the vocalist of Entombed, who is Swedish. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Y-lZ2Ocyko&feature=related

As for Alduin himself... what they need to do is make his voice sound like the beast at 30 seconds in this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mnFSZGipxo

Although I'll admit, that voice would've done good for Mehrunes Dagon as well.

Christopher Lee should do Alduin's voice, i'd prefer Sean Connery to voice a "good guy".

On a related note, there HAS to be a character that Brian Blessed could voice! With there being a civil war, he could be one of the commanders?

Getting Frank Welker on board would be great: He voiced so many of the great villains from Saturday morning. John Rhys Davies would also work - listen to him play Prince Thrakath in Wing Commander 3. I can't believe I remembered his name...

When I first looked at the alternatives, I though "what are these lousy names?".

Then my eyes fell on Michael Dorn.

WORF DRAGONS FTW!

The guy who does Sovereign's voice from Mass Effect 1 totally wrecked my sub woofer. So bassy, I LOVE IT.

Whoever it is, it better be low, and bassy.

Geoffry Holder known to most from the old 7-up ommercials, a Bond movie, or from Broadway.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tAiEFhNHZk

He has a great voice and laugh, and he's pretty much an unknown now.

Yep, he's definetly missing, I would've voted for him.

It's so hard to pick just one.

I love Tom Waits, cuz he's [censored] Tom Waits.

I'm also quite partial to John Hurt, being a fan of Merlin.

But to cast personal bias aside I have to say Kevin Grevioux has the best voice for it.

Also, where's the Sean Connery option?

Samuel L Jackson for the regular dragons, Sylvester Stallone for Alduin, Jason Statham for everyone else.

Alan Rickman. Maybe it's just my fangirliness blocking out the logical part of my brain... but his voice is so deep and beautiful.

On second thought, it's maybe a little too nice-sounding. I suppose we wouldn't want to be lulled by a dragon's voice...

instead of looking for a pricey actor they should go find an opera signer they sure will find the best shouts for dragons there and the best voices too.
