It has never been used to explain any defeats for the honorable and glorious Great House Redoran, greatest of the Great Houses. The Daedra only won, because they caught Ald-Ruhn by surprise.

To be caught by surprise by one's enemy is a great failure. When scholars already know how to open oblivion gates (before the oblivion crisis), they have no excuse for being unable to close them.

He also knew Dagon's Protonymic and neonymic, had a weapon forged from Dagon's essence, and possessed the saviour's hide. While he did win, it was because of the artifacts and knowledge of the protonymic and neonymic.

Even so, defeating him was a far greater acheivement than CoC getting Martin to call on Akatosh to defeat him.

Telvanni are the ones with arcane knowledge, if they weren't such politically driven [censored]s they could have stopped it, I blame the Telvanni

While being caught by surprise was dishonorable, there was no hope; the damage had been by the Daedra.

It sounds like the Dragonborn will be a shezzarine. So my vote goes to him.

Yes those great houses lol. Also @ JagarTharn The empire still has great control over morrowind during the time of the Oblivion Crisis. Why else would vivec give up the Numidium?

Viva La Revelucion, the Ashlanders wouldn't need much encouragment

A dragonborn individual cannot be a Shezarrine because they are a reincarnated dragon, instead. The CoC IS a Shezarrine, however... assuming the CoC is the person who became Pelinal's successor and defeated Umaril.

Forgot about KOTN, my bad. But I saw the Dragonborn title as more like a blood line(or several) and I don't see how that would exclude the dovahkiin from being an aspect of Shor. Or even mantling Shor. I couldn't imagine him not being in this game in some way, opposing Alduin. And since Shors busy with that whole being dead thing, the Dragonborn seems to be a good way for him to do it.
