Who do you consider your personal nemesis?

Post » Sun Nov 25, 2012 2:15 pm

He's probably basing his opinion of Caesar on what he sees in-game. A lot of the good points about the Legion have to be extrapolated (since it's territories got cut) or read online. And even if Sawyer believes something, I'm not sure it's canon/a fact (ie. his mod that changes karma levels). The idea that woman are making babies isn't really a fact according to the version of New Vegas that I bought, since in that game, the slaves are standing around carrying giant packages that have crippled both their legs (and I hope they're not pregnant).

I think it is an opinion whether one believes the in-game depiction of the Legion or the Sawyer version, though I generally consider his ideas awesome, and thus think of them a canon.

Right.

As I said, it's not like it's unfounded that someone draw such conclusions from what's seen at first glance. But if you dig deeper, there's less black-and-white reasons behind the Legion and more intellectual ones. (which are still disagreeable for people, nonetheless)

As much as i feel the ends dont justify the means, I cant hold any real malice towards Caesar. I hate some of the things he does, but i can still understand why Caesar does them. Still feels like I'm compromising some of my morals when doing a CL playthrough, though, that is not necessarily a bad thing (in a game at least).

I really only hate the think-tank. They just never shut up. Every time I start OWB i think "here we go again" as i proceed to spam through 30 minutes of dialogue.

My pick was Benny. No need for justification, I just dont like him. As to the conversation about Caesar above me: At the end of the day its just a bunch of 1's and 0's on a screen.

General Oliver and the ncr in general.

They impose themselfs on new territory, send young men and women to the frontlines not to defend their country but to be canon fodder seeing how their trained for two weeks and some times dont even get armor and say its "patriotic duty", when its really just what keeps their leaders rich.

If the NCR hadnt came to the mojave there would be no khans, no fiends and no powder gangers.

Oliver in particular, has pretty bad tactics that get lots of guys killed, and the worst of it is how he doesnt take advices from anyone, wanting to be the guy that thought it all and therefore get the votes he needs to keep himself on power, because, almost like the original roman caesar, he know his own people will [censored] him when his time on the power comes to an end.

I don't get all the hate towards the NCR,besides the Enclave, they are my second most favorite faction.
I get it,their leaders are morons, this is obvious.
But the NCR in general isn't bad. They try to bring some unity and protection to the wasteland and since they aren't perfect at it they get demonized.
Seriously, would you rather have the legion rule the Mojave?

We're not talking about NCR in general, we're talking about Oliver/Kimball.

They killed people in the Enclave, that's my primary reason. Besides, given that I support the Enclave I'm therefore considering all other mainlanders expendable; it's really jaded me to the concerns of other actual people in the Fallout Universe.

What the NCR is trying to do is fine, its the fact they don't actually do it. The ideals are there but all the generals and leaders are too greedy and corrupt to actually follow through with it properly.
The reason the Mojave is such is mess is mostly down to them xD Yeah there's alot more freedom in the NCR compared to the Legion, but a hell of alot less security.

I'm surprised General Oliver scored so high. Hes just a bloke hopelessly organising a defence of the dam. You dont even see him till the end of the main quest so how he is anyones nemesis is weird.

Ulysses however is a true Nemesis. He looks and sounds like a real opponent. He can fight (Unlike Benny or Oliver) and also is the one person who the courier has history with.

More people should really buy the lonesome road expansion and see for themselves :)

Its a hard question. I see myself as Ulysses nemesis, but I dont see him as mine. I dont really see myself with a nemesis, an equal. Wait...nvm, the only ones I see as someone being an equal or better would be Mr house in some aspects.

The nameless brotherhood paladin and his goon squad you meet during Veronica's quest. Unfortunate for them, when they overstepped their boundaries*, I just got back from raiding vault 34's armory. :gun: :shocking:

I don't get it either. I think some people think big armies and factions are all perfect.
That they don't have to deal with bad stuff, make hard descisons. That every leader is perfect.
That there ar'nt people taking on the nasty stuff, and clearing it up, so peace can continue.
The ncr are good. Their goals are good. They bring peace and unity.
But to get that, you have to do some hard things. It's worth it if it furthers the freedom and good things for everyone
No one ever said all leaders in a faction are perfect.

I thought the NCR was well done.
Not perfect but the goals are good. Got a bit of too fast empire expanison. But that happens to a lot of groups.
There's nothing to hate about the faction itself, or it's goals.
They're as close to pre war life as you can get, in a very managable way.

I think I've asked you this 3 times before: Why do you hate Legion to such an extent that you feel the need to perform a genocide?

Here are the other times I've asked you:

First time: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1385847-which-npc-make-you-the-angriest/page__st__30__p__21054662#entry21054662

Second time: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1389885-so-does-opening-that-truck-up-there-kill-the-legion-or-just-piss-them-off/page__st__30__p__21136513#entry21136513

Third time: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1381858-dead-money-why-does-it-get-so-much-hate/page__st__60__p__21143872#entry21143872

Please, by all means, give us a constructive post as to why you hate Legion.

Oh and this: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1381858-dead-money-why-does-it-get-so-much-hate/page__view__findpost__p__21147702 Is not constructive criticism, it's just... "Complaining", about the same things over and over again.

lol are you trying to be his nemesis? love the history links, pure gold.

The only reason I don't like CL is because of the slavery. Its a tough thing to over look when helping them.
