So who're you gonna make?

My favorite build. Back story - maybe ex special forces. Green Beret type, behind the lines and all that. Agility and perception are primary with a good dose of endurance, and charisma. Intelligence, luck and strength last but at least average in everything. Will probably start with 3 across the board in everything except luck and boost perception and agility to start.

Alternative, ex cat burglar. But I can't fit the sniper angle in that way.

Interesting thing about this iteration is that the opening is both more and less restrictive. Less because in FO3 you were the kid who grew up in the vault. Your back story was pretty much set. In FO4 you are apparently married with a family - no choice in that - but your back story is less well defined.

I actually can't think of many games that don't have a backstory.. Except for games like Icewind Dale, most RPG's seem to revolve around you discovering your back story. In F3 you ran off to discover your parents backstory and the mystery of how you came to be in a vault. NV, you lost your memory so you were again just discovering your own backstory. I'm assuming that F4 will be no different and the main crux of the plot will be discovering things about yourself. TES games are slightly different in that you can loosely make up a backstory.. but the plot still revolves around a discovery of self and centered on a "But what's all this got to do with me?" type of plot. You basically start off as a nobody who was having some really bad luck.

My first character will focus on Charisma, Energy Weapons and be a hero (Karma Very Good)
My second character will focus on strength, Melee Weapons and be a villain (Karma Very Evil)

Just noticed on the Vault 111 site the hp's, action points and carry weight are listed. . "You'll start with 85 Hit Points, 70 Action Points, and have a carry weight of 200." Those are your stats at 1 point each. Is this info accurate or are they just guessing?.. because those all seem really high to me. Especially carry weight.

We've calculated the respective values by carefully studying all available footage showing the Pip-Boy. I'm 100% confident that they're correct :)

The important thing to remember here is the new way that each of these stats are affected in-game. Firstly, it seems that all items will be useful this time round, and so increased Carry Weight will be invaluable. Secondly, although Hit Points start off lower, with so many levels, we will probably see a higher maximum (my estimate is that HP will max out at level 51, giving us a total of between 285 and 600). However, due to the fact that radiation now reduces your max available health, this will also prove very useful in the long term. Finally, the number of Action Points we can have seems to be significantly increased. Again, this makes sense given that they are no longer used purely for V.A.T.S. combat, but also for sprinting, and possibly other in-game actions.

It can be while my character still isnt very good at either skill hahaha. I have found memories of the character type in 3 and having a lot of mishaps at first.

I guess Skyrim had a pretty large carry weight and I don't remember that bothering me. ..All in all I suppose the numbers don't really matter yet, as long as the game is well balanced and my character is incredibly weak comparable to everything around me in the beginning of the game I'll be fine.

Oh yeah, being too close while reverse-pickpocketing grenades to enemies is a bad idea.

EDIT:

Skyrim had kill animations, so I assume (and hope) Fallout 4 has them too.

I'm going to make several really different characters like I always do for Bethesda games. I'll base them on characters from my pen and paper roleplaying campaign.

I don't write that in-depth for game characters, something almost always goes against it. I'll just improvise a character I can relate to (which means close to a self-insert since I'm not very empathic). High everything except luck and charisma, though in 4 I'll need to up LCK to get Grim Reaper's Sprint. Loner, logical, doesn't waste time or attention for emotional drama, prefers direct solutions (hacking instead of finding passwords, lockpicking instead of using keys, killing instead of diplomacy, etc), hates people in general, especially the weak-minded and/or stupid, and children. Entirely focused on her personal entertainment and contentment, gives zero [censored] about anything or anyone else.

Sounds kind of like a bad person but it's fun to play.

I am pretty hyped about this one. I will try to make myself! I am no artist, but I will see how close I come to my own face. I have already tried made up my own stats (assuming they add up to 28). This will be so good.

I'll propably start with a manipulative, crafting gun nut named after myself.

Just a smooth talker to get him out of or avoiding melee fights just to shoot them later from a distance.

So high INT (for the crafting ofc and will come in handy with the Exp. for faster leveling if i misjudged some skills) and CHA (for good bartering and manipulation).

S 2

P 5

E 3

C 6

I 7

A 3
L 2

P.S. If manipulation won't be as big of a deal as i hope some CHA points will find their way to STR and or AGT
