Who do you hate?

Post » Tue May 25, 2010 11:00 pm

Black horse carriers were always quite annoying.

Damn right. I would kill them all, but they all run off before you get to them. <_< They claim to be "terribly busy" but all they ever do is aimlessly ride around in circles, try to run off as soon as you come near, and flee from all the creatures like wimps. They never get any new issues of the newspaper. Are they all on strike or something?

That wouldn't make sense, though. It is Martin's destiny to save Tamriel. The PC in Oblivion is an errand boy, nothing more.

That is what I hate. My destiny should be to save Tamriel. Perhaps Bethesda could have done what they did in Redguard, allow me to defeat Mehrunes Dagon under special circumstances.

It's not the voices, it's the fact that they just didn't feel like Dunmer at all. From the eyes, to the hair, to their faces. I'm aware that they were never supposed to be the same Dunmer in Morrowind, but they just never felt like they were the same race. That said, the females were fine to me.

Anyway, on-topic, one NPC I've always hated was the Imperial author of the 'Guide to (City)" Books. Forgot her name, but she was a devout follower of the Nine Divines.

Morrowind goes against the very lore it established. The Dunmer should sound like Altmer, from a lore perspective.

They were still too friendly. Everybody in Oblivion was! The greetings were just too dull, even the friendly ones. Diluting things like, "talk is free, what do you want?" and even, "speak freely, friend" into a bunch of generic Hello's and Good Morning's annoyed me to no end. After Bethesda tried to eradicate all traces of Olde English in Daggerfall and Morrowind, I suppose they overworked themselves.

That is what I hate. My destiny should be to save Tamriel. Perhaps Bethesda could have done what they did in Redguard, allow me to defeat Mehrunes Dagon under special circumstances.

I agree completely. They could've kept you close to an errand boy while still having you be the one to overcome the opposition like with Cyrus - sure he had DAT HOON DING on his side, but aside from the actions of Prince A'Tor's sword manifestation, you still, at the very least, felt you were in control of Cyrus and felt like a total badass. Could've had Martin weaken Mehrunes Dagon or something of that sort, instead of some generic Godzilla-esque titanic battle.

Of course, the rest of the main quest would be a bit more problematic, seeing how about half of it revolves around Martin sitting in Cloud Ruler Temple all day nagging you to fetch him various miscellany. Someone in their spare time should try and write a new version of Oblivion's storyline that still incorporates the Mythic Dawn/Martin whilst giving far more action and free choice to the player character.

I forgot about Mannimarco. Can I change my vote to that one, please?

Mai'q the liar can go to hell.

Edit: And all of the Uncle Tom, gentrified outlander dunmer. And whoever thought it was a good idea to completely destroy Morrowind in the lore.

Vvardenfell was going to be destroyed since it was shipped in the original game. Read the sermons, it's right in there and it's not ambiguous.

Anywho, I hate OB Mai'q, that elf with the statues quest in OB, the nords in that one hut in Solstheim (not Thirsk), and that's all I can think of right now. I know there's more.

Ugh, I hate so many people in Oblivion for various reasons. Either for being jerks or stupid or just plain LAME (Dunmer and Mannimarco).

He was annoying in the game but I kinda felt bad for him because of his paranoia lol. I once knew a paranoid schizo and I didn't hate him, just felt bad for him.

I've already said who I hate, but here's who I actually don't hate, the adoring fan, I'm kind of indifferent to him, I wish he were more useful though.
