I would have left him dead but I have him dressed up in goofy Raider armor and a Pre-War Bonnet to entertain me.

Butch. Dunno why but ever since he saved my ass in Old Olney, I have kept him around since. He works well with Paulson's Revolver

TUNNEL SNAKES RULE!!!

I stated this earlier but now... BUTCH IS A [censored]!!!
He was killed by a RADROACH, A LITTLE RADROACH!!!

He had below 20 health and he didn't even bother shooting it.

So now my favorite follower is dogmeat.
Cool, calm, and less likely to be killed by a RADROACH!!! :ahhh: :biglaugh:

No, Fawkes is a guy. Did you read your entire link? Did you read this comment?

Contrary to a comment about Fawkes' gender made by his voice actor, lead designer Emil Pagliarulo has confirmed "No, Fawkes was absolutely a male. This was a mistake. Wes gave an interview and he was mistaken. Trust me, Fawkes is and was male."

I apologizes, I did read that, I was so caught up and suprised for the fact that It said D164 was a female, that when I read the last part I read female. Thats actually a little depressing.

I haven't, yet. Thankfully! I found plenty in Oblivion which forever changed my view of my favourite NPC

I'm having fun with Clover again. She took out several Super Mutants with her Shiskebab last night. She and Harkness make a great team together. They flame everything in sight. I took Butch with me during Broken Steel and he jumped in front of me as I fired my Plasma Rifle. Four rounds right in the head. *Butch has died* Sigh. Reload. I would have left him dead but I have him dressed up in goofy Raider armor and a Pre-War Bonnet to entertain me.

That reminds me of someone in the screenshot thread, not long after the game came out, who posted a picture of Jericho wearing the female version of Mister Burke's suit and pre-war bonnet :lmao: He had such an annoyed look on his face. It was funny. Very humiliating for him, no doubt! I wish I'd saved the image.

By activating the Terminal by the door of Fawkes room in Vault 87, and using the 'Identify Specimen' function, you will find that the cell's inhabitant is called 'Specimen D164'. A different terminal in a room close to Fawkes' cell contains data on 5 specimen, stating that D164 was a female. After the FEV is introduced to a human they shift into a being with no sixual organs and thus, no gender. However, it is unknown whether Fawkes actually is Specimen D164 or whether he (got) moved into the cell after the original inhabitant had died. In any case, since Bethesda had to identify every NPC's gender (and nongender wasn't an option), Fawkes has been confirmed to be male.

The game scripts have Fawkes labeled as male, seems like a pretty compelling argument.

in any case Fawkes is great for laying down cover fire when you feel like being lazy. personally i like Charon for more technical combat styles.

I've recently started using Charon, because I was in the mood to have a bodyguard other than Clover, and because I'm tired of being evil just to get her and wanted to try being a good character for once.

Charon is actually a pretty cool bodyguard. He doesn't complain or whine like Clover does when given orders and he seems very good in a fight. :)

I know, but to get her the first time you need evil karma, and I thought for once I'd try to play a character who's good from start to end, and since I still wanted a proper bodyguard I decided to give Charon a try.

Clover is still my favorite bodyguard, but I admit that Charon is pretty deadly. I just wish I could dress him in other outfits besides armor.

Ya, this svcks. It's the same with Jericho. At least Clover has that dress which makes it easier to put her in something else. I have to admit it was the first thing I did when I moved over to the PC. I started dressing them in lower DR clothing just because I could. Lots of Merc outfits. It's awesome. I mean, I know I can go get modded gear for companions, and I have, but I just have hours and hours of pent up frustration with wanting them to wear the Merc outfits, or Regulator Dusters, or worthless Raider gear even.

Clover is still my favorite bodyguard, but I admit that Charon is pretty deadly.

If you still like Clover best and want to go get her you can try the tricks I use to get my Karma down low enough to hire Jericho when I'm not playing an Evil character but want him to follow me anyway. So I go to Moriarty's and just hack his computer over and over again. Actually, I don't hack it even. You don't need to. All you have to do is open it over and over again. Because it is red and owned you take a karma hit for opening it. It takes awhile and is pretty tedious but your character is doing nothing wrong. So I would get my karma down low enough to hire him (evil) and then afterwards, if I cared, I would go and donate to the Confessor to get it back up to Neutral. You could always give him more to get to Good if you wanted.

I have no issue with Jericho what so ever later when he has good armor and a big gun and melee wep like a mini gun or vengeance and Shiskebab he don't die I give him 15 stimpacks from the start he now has 5 left and I done almost all main quest. I would say he my favorite for his humorous comments like "I'm gonna [censored] your [censored] up" which all followers tend to do anyway you can sneak but as soon as they lock enemies guns are blazing alerting all nearby and also they love to walk into mines and traps ><. Also I always give Jericho some cigarettes so he don't moan about there being none around. I don't like using OP ones like Fawkes anymore even Charon with his glitched shotgun
