Who is your Character?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 7:07 am

This is a fun thread to start preparing our character in our minds before we get the game!

1st Playthrough: My character is a Nord Sagon Warlock AGE:29, who appears to be DragonBorn (Obviously), He has long natural dark brown hair with a viking helmet, he has hazel eyes, his face, nose, mouth are meant to be tough-looking but not ugly (you know, like a hero).

His facial hair is like a long version of a 5'clock shadow with mean it quite long, he has a scar from the left corner of his head across the eyes to his bottom left corner (luckily he not blind, also the scar is straight) a couple on his face from the past.

He was 2 month old when his mother and father was killed in a fire as the whole village(small village) was burning away, he was saved by what's unknown but been left in the forest, thankfully, he was save by an Nord called Doune who he called his dad.
after years of learning in a cabin, training of weapons and hunting, he soon found out the truth which Doune has told him, he left.....full of anger and hate, leaving Doune somewhat sad.
Soon he realized, if It weren't for him, he wouldn't be alive, so back to the cabin only to find It was burned along with a skeleton on the doorway, Sagon was terribly upset and cried, he believe that there a connection between this and his parent's death.
After years of trying to find his revenge, he has found It and knows what did this but he does not know who he is! (Then my game starts, even I don't know the beginning of the story for SKYRIM).

His focus skills are Blade, blunt, hand to hand combat, block, heavy armor and many more!

So what yours? my next one, better detailed is coming up later!

BACKGROUND:
SKYRIM, OBLIVION AND INFERNAL CITY SPOILERS:
Spoiler
My character is named Arvus Indoril, a Dunmer noble from Great House Indoril. In his youth, he worked his way up the Temple ranks, becomming a Master of the Temple. Later on, he was recruited by the Ordinators to do some undercover work in Cyrodiil. He was there at the Battle of Bruma (where the Great Gate was) and defended the Arcane University when Dagon's daedra attacked the Imperial City. After this, he was recalled to Morrowind, where he worked as a Vivec City Ordinator for 20 years. He retired after this, and went into the wilderness to further his Arcane training. Roughly 20 years passed and the Argonians of the South began to invade. Arvus reappeared in the city of Mournhold and went to the battlefront in the Argon Jungle. There, he battled with Helseth's men and drove of a group of Argonians. However, more of the lizards had crept around the men and attacked from behind. The men got scattered and were defeated. Arvus was thrown off a cliff into the river and floated north, towards the Inner Sea. He awoke near the city of Old Ebonheart to find that many Imperials were leaving. He managed to escape Morrowind with them and fled to Cyrodiil. Using his arcane powers to grant him youth (still looks about 30), he lived in Cyrodiil for 150 years before heading north, to Skyrim. He had a nice home in Skyrim. Just outside of Winterhold. He lived there for about 10 years. An argument with an Argonian at the local tavern turned into a fight and both were arrested. The Argonian used his persuasive skills to convince the guards that Arvus attacked him. Unfortunalty, the Argonian was a noble in the King's Court. Arvus was sentenced to death.....

FAVOURED SKILLS:
Blade
Marksman
Sneak
Light Armour
Alchemy
Alteration
Destruction

FEATURES:
A slight bit taller than most Dunmer. A large scar across his mouth (breaking his beard). And another scar across his right eye (not blind though). Long, dark hair, and a jet black beard that looks like Helseth's (look at my avatar image).

Name: Staboyo
Race: Dunmer
Job: Used to be a soldier but deserted and fled the country (for Cyrodil and then Skyrim it seems) because dying in someone else's war doesnt seem like a very good idea.
Personality: A vicious, cruel and greedy b@5tard. He sees people and organizations as tools to aid in his relentless quest for power. He's almost enough of a sociopath to be the CEO of a Large Multinational Corporation in our world... but not quite.

Appearance: Slightly gaunt. Fairly handsome features. Clean shaven (can dunmer even grow beards??) Will liberally add scars and see about the hair when the time comes.

Motivation: Attain the highest level of power and influence possible. Escape the machinations and whims of nobles and kings. Also to get revenge... on everyone... everywhere... FOREVER!!! Rather indiscriminately actually.

A white imperial. During school he started a catering service with his female freind. He delivered her to her appointments with other men, and made sure the men paid. Then other women joined his catering service, so he watched out for themm too. Eventually his gals came up with a nickname: Dreugh.

You guys have a lot of specific plans. I have vague ideas that will change rapidly once I start playing. No hardset story or anything like that because I do not know who my character is. I have not spent time with her or seen how she reacts to situations yet. My character is a product of her environment and that will dictate the decisions she makes and her behavior as I go along through the game. I could not possibly guess who she is and why so early.

Here are the few things I have planned out that will most likely stay consistent but are, as always, subject to change:

The name is Vannora Shale-Fist, a female Nord. She has dark hair and possibly a scar over her right eye. She is DOHVAKIIN. DRAGONBORN!

That's it. The rest I'll come up with as I go along to fit the story.

Mine's more of an accurate prediction of how I'll play the game and the kind of character that will result from it than an actual plan haha. The backstory is just to justify my guy being a total @55hole.

This is how I usually play.

I'm assuming the engine has changed a great deal, so there'll be many new and unknown factors to be taken into account when formulating a character.

A lanky nord male with dark crimson trimmed hair and goatee. His eyes are a dark brown. He has scars covering his entire body as a result of training and prison life. He was born in an unremarkable village that was burned to the ground by an unknown mage.

He favors heavy armor, maces, destruction magic, enchanting, alchemy and smithing.

He is in prison for the destruction of said village.

I have several characters i'd like to bring back.

Yoah, my Dunmer mage. Born from a noble family and the youngest of 5 older sisters and one older brother she ran away to make a name for herself. She started out stealing to survive until she joined the mages guild and after many adventures joined the Arcane University where she eventually became Arch Mage.

Her oldest sibling, her brother Blighl came looking for her but ended up on many adventures of his own. A rogue, drunk, womanizer and all around lovable [censored], he ended up having real adventures instead of making up stories about them like he used to.

I also had a half Nord half Imperial Paladin named Baldur. His father was a Nord and his mother was an Imperial. He had a rough childhood and acted like an ass, acting very out of character for a Paladin, consorting with Daedra, practicing strange rituals and often begging the God's for forgiveness. Living in his older brothers shadow made him a bit cnical toward his family, especiall since his father favored his brother over him and made every point to tell him that. Despite being somewhat Racist toward Kajiit, Orcs and Argonians he was always having one night stands with their women. He was also close friends with two of my other characters, a Breton mage named Able and a Dunmer spellsword named Kurt. He often drunkenly hit on Kurt because I had made Kurt to look like a very attractive woman. Baldur also had an adventure once where he battled an almost endless onslaught of wolves, mountain lions and bears in the north. My cousin and I dubbed this the Bear Wars as they were the main antagonists in this adventure.

And lastly I had a sixy bishounen Redgaurd named Kanime. He was a bit of a warrior build but I never went on many adventures with him, instead spending a lot of time hanging out in cities.

Yikes. Toughie.

It would really depend on the race stats, the general gameplay, and how the beast races look. =)

I think a Nord would be nice and appropriate for this kind of setting.

I would like to play as an older, maternal female Nord character who looks similar the http://www.gamereactor.se/media/59/elderscrolls5_235970b.jpg from that one screenshot. She would be a butt-whuppin'/tough kind of motherly gal.

She's already had kids in their early teens (who have already moved out of her original home) and her husband had died, so she is on her own, being a helpful adventurer and traveler and taking life by the horns. =)

However, she got accused of some crime and is being held for execution (or something, depending on how Skyrim's beginning plot begins).

Again, I would wait until I got the game to get more details about how some of the skills/activities/combat (ex; cooking, smithing, alchemy, combat skills, etc) would work before making more concrete decisions about my character. ^_^

Hi folks, fun topic. I am still working the background for my character, themed as a Nordic shaman type as described http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%C3%B6lva.

Although born a Breton, in her background story, she will have been raised in the Nordic culture.

An appropriate name for this character is still in the "rough draft" stage. I am researching Norse mythology, and other names associated with Scandanavian peoples. I like for there to be a good reason, and perhaps even a bit of history to the names of my TES characters.

Her age will be late teens. In Viking culture, women her age were often already married, and she is currently not. (But, was she ever? And how did she find herself in captivity?)

She will be role-played heavily, and as such, likes to dance close to the fire.

Her main school will be magic, however, she will not be a pure mage, as classes have been removed, and alchemy is now in the domain of stealth. She will most definately be doing a lot of alchemy, and will take advantage of some of alchemy devices provided in Skyrim.

As for weapons, she will most often use a staff or wand.

Note: In Norse mythology, and history, those characters she will emulate actually did use staves, etc.

She will also use small melee weapons. I can see her using a dagger type weapon for gathering and preparing herbs, and will usually take one with her. She will use a bow for hunting, (And because I want to try out the new archery system.)

Also, as having been raised in Nord culture, she will use a small axe. Generally, she will wear various cloths, leathers and furs. For her theme, perhaps some bone armor, if it is in the game.

As she is designed more to be a shaman type, magic will be her forte, but small weapons may be used. However, I do not currently have plans to play her as a "shield maiden" type.

Now, I must comtemplate her background, and what events led this young woman in captivity. Also, why does she keep having those dreams. Dreams in which she can hear dragons whisper, but she can't understand. Her desire is to know of what they speak...

Appearance -

CAUTION:

There is no nudity, or violence in the following image, however, discretion is advised, depending on who is looking.

http://www.my-pin-up-girl.com/images/Fantasy-Women19-Royo.jpg is a beautiful piece of work by the famed fantasy artist, Luis Royo. I plan to have my character look as much as possible like the image, within the limits of the character creation system.

EDIT: Fix spacing

If I can customize the Khajiit appearance as I wish.... I'll be playing a gender-swapped, less-dressed version of http://shawnye.com/last_descendant.html. Who needs armor when you've got a thick winter coat of fur? Similar build and badass appearance.

Ok, I'll bite.
A petite smartmouthed brunette blackeyed bosmer who makes an excellent living liberating antiquities, selling liquid alteration to the alchemically challenged, and certain classified mercenary actitivites that may or may not involve the use of magicks and weapons.
The last man to ask me to make him a sandwich got his butt slapped and some chunks bitten out. Cannibal that I am, you could say I gave him an ass-chewing, literally.

He wouldn't be afraid to show his feminine side, if he had one.
His mother has a tattoo that reads, "Son."
At museums, he's allowed to touch the art.
He is, the most interesting man in the world.

On a more serious note...

Name: Casseus Clyde
Race: Redguard
Skills: Heavy armor, one-handed (blades)
Scars: Lacerations and marks mainly around the torso, arms, and some on the face from difficult battles.
Personality: A very silent and mysterious individual, Casseus Clyde is an orphan of war, and a battle-hardened soldier. Never staying in one province too long, he moves frequently from one settlement to the next with intentions that are unknown. Stumbling into the middle of a civil war in the collapsing Skyrim, Casseus gets caught in the crossfire and is placed in an unfavorable situation of execution...

I have put a lot of thought into my character.

Name: Haakon. Those who know him refer to him as Haakon the Bastard because of the nature of his quest. Unbeknownst to him, his true last name is Kestla (as his heritage can be traced back to the Champion of Cyrodiil, Hendrix de Kest).
Race: Nord.

Haakon was raised in the south of Cyrodiil, near the flooded ruins of Leyawiin, by a group of High Elves who taught him to know that he was a chosen one who would one day, by his bravery, save his village from annihilation. He knew it to be true because, according to his people, he had been found as an infant weak and near death in the bogs, immersed in water. He had survived because the gods had gifted him with an unnatural will to live. He knew the gods protected him from harm because of the birthmark over his heart:

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/9809/perun.png

This symbol had been present over the heart of all the great heroes in the tribe's history.
When the tribe found Haakon incapable of casting even the simplest spell, they made up for it by teaching him their ancient methods of survival in the wilderness and combat with the Elven sword and longbow. This he took to like a natural champion and, before he had reached his fourteenth year, was already the greatest fighter in his village. His warshouts, especially, would instil fear even in his allies; their deafening strength was beyond the comprehension of the solemn High Elves, who began considering it a form of magic all its own.
On the day of Haakon's eighteenth birthday, he was led to the place where the trial of his heroism would occur. He and his people travelled for several days until they reached a place where the trees grew taller and thicker than anywhere else in the southern swamps. At that place was a stone altar, into the top of which was carved the same symbol as the one on Haakon's chest.
He did not understand the nature of his trial, so when his people blindfolded him and bound his hands, he suspected no treachery. Only when he was laid on the altar did he fully understand what it was they intended: he was not a hero but a sacrifice who would protect their village not with strength of arm, but with his spilled blood.
Blindfolded, Haakon did not see what occurred, but his ears made up for his lack of sight. A chant began in speech he did not understand, but he understood it to be a prayer to whatever god he would be sacrificed to. He heard the chieftain's knife pulled from his belt and the people became deadly silent. He then heard a faint humming from afar, so distant and so quiet that he became sure even his people couldn't hear it. It grew louder and louder in his ears, but still the others paid it no heed.
He didn't know what happened when a great clap rent the air above his head, why the smell of sulphur sprang suddenly into the forest and overwhelmed his senses, bringing the bile rising in his throat. He couldn't see the reason that his people screamed. He lay still for a long time while the chaos grew louder and more insane around him, until finally one of the elves tore the band from his eyes and dragged his bound body from the grove. As he was brought away, Haakon saw that the trees had caught flame and as many as a dozen of his people lay dead with burns in the shape of large circles on their foreheads.

Of all Haakon's people, only four had survived. Among those survivors was the chieftain's wife, who explained to him what had happened in the sacrificial grove: the chieftain raised the knife above his head to pierce Haakon's heart, and from the heavens the hand of Kynareth came down between the blade and Haakon. The chieftain was already too far into his swing to pull back and the knife collided with Kynareth's flaming hand; it exploded, shattering the knife, and the orbs of fire that came from it struck and killed most of the tribe and lit the forest on fire. The wife of the chieftain said it was surely a punishment for creating a chosen one instead of waiting for Kynareth to supply one.
She went on to explain that, unlike the tribe's previous sacrifices, Haakon's birthmark was not natural. Haakon had been brought to the tribe by a wandering vagabond who, after seeing Haakon's mother leave her home, entered and killed Haakon's father before he understood he was robbing a home which contained a child. He had not the heart to kill a newborn infant as well, but fearing to leave him alive for the vengeance he would surely seek as an advlt, he took the child with him. Fearing the consequences of his murder, he fled the northern land of Skyrim with the child and traveled with him for some time before coming upon the tribe of High Elves in Cyrodiil. It was they who carved the symbol into Haakon's chest, with the very same knife they meant to use for his sacrifice.
After hearing his history, Haakon immediately fled the remnant of his people and began travelling north, hoping to reach the country of his birth. That was seven years ago. Still in the search for his mother, the rumour of his quest travelled through the land and twisted as it went. It became known to some that his mother had been a prosttute and, filled with the shame of his parents, Haakon had killed his father himself and fled the country for the rest of his childhood. He was arrested under these charges, branded by the people of Skyrim as Haakon the Bastard.

That's my character. Am i doin it rite?

My first character for Skyrim will be as follows;

Male Nord
Name: Garith the Lost
Age 33

Favored Skills:
Two-Handed Weapons (Hammers)
Athletics
Destruction
Light Armor
Smithing/Armorer
Alchemy

Background

Garith the Lost, a wandering spirit who has no home. His wife and son were murdered; the deed pinned on him, his home burned to the ground by the resentful townsfolk. Once he was a respected hunter and woodsman. Now he wanders Tamriel endlessly, searching for those responsible for the death of his family. For six years he's searched with no lead to guide him and no trace of evidence arousing any suspicion. Day by day the search grows more hopeless and the trail grows colder, but still he searches. His resolve, unwavering as it always is, leads his path back to the land where he was forsaken; Skyrim. There he is apprehended and charged with the murder of his wife and child, but fate intervenes just when his last remaining light beings to fade. Destiny has bigger plans for him.

Name: Svarozic
Race: Breton male
Looks:Acrobatic and powerful. Scars along his back from being flogged.

Woke up, only remembering his name in a forest. Found a village and decided to join the small farming community. He fell in love with a Nord woman who had lost her husband years ago and was left alone with her daughter. Her name was Don, and her daughter's name was Maeve. He lived there for two years, until bandits attacked. They started to loot and pillage the place, taking what they wanted and killing whoever got in there way. This angered Svarozic, and soon the bandits were torn apart by his powerful magic. But it didn't stop there. He enjoyed the blood. He went into a frenzy and the entire village was on fire in seconds. He could no longer control himself. He couldn't see anything anymore. He could only hear the cries of the village people as he tore into them. The next morning the village had burned to the ground and the woman he loved lay dead in his arms. Guards had found him in only minutes seeing the smoke from miles away. He did not resist them. He was arrested, then flogged for his crimes. He now awaits execution.
