Who's your companion and why?

No companion 'cause they don't get in the way this way.

I used Lydia for about 2 dungeons; she got too annoying.
I switched to a Khajiit nomad warrior that I helped find an amulet for about 12 dungeons, then told him he could leave, which was sad because it looked like he didn't really want to.
I used the Dunmer in the Drunken Huntsman for a good while and she said I was fun enough to get her help free of charge from now own, after I let her go.
I've been using the Dark Brotherhood initiates, but the male one wouldn't stop screaming at random intervals for no apparent reason, so he had to go back to the sanctuary. The female one isn't bad, but she can't be a sneaky type worth a damn. Just running around while I'm sneaking and slashing draugs in the face.

After I couldn't figure out how to get Shadowmere to stop following me every where I go via fast travel, (because he was killing all the dragons and ruining my precious immersion) I tried to kill him with glass weapons but I couldn't hurt his god like regen on Master, so I killed him by getting the proc from Mehrunes Razor to finally go off, after leveling my one handed several times on his sorry ass(horse).

No more companions for me, because it seems like they're programmed to get in your line of fire, plus they keep running up to me which pushes my character, causing me to step on traps, or pick up a bowl instead of what's in it. (sooo annoying).

Edit: And the summon spectral companion power thing from the DB will not Please continue, my good sir., so I only use it mid boss fight so it will die instantly.

Edit 2: lol at that censor

It was J'zhago for me until I lost him due to a companion quest and now can't find him again :( Why, mostly because a) he's a cat and B) I loved his voice.

Leader of the DB here and I had used LaChance(summon Spectral Assassin) a few times cause his comments were funny and at the time relevant but when a ghost gets killed by a swinging door trap I knew I must continue to work alone.

I don't use companions for the following reasons:

They get in the way
They don't know how to be stealthy
They get in the way
They tend to die
They get in the way
They're annoying
Did I mention they get in the way?

I faithfully used Lydia from the start and reloaded when she died a number of times until I met that mage girl from that Dark Tower, she broke my heart with her sad story I must admit! Soon after Lydia met another untimely end at the hands of 3 Trolls and 2 Cave Bears, this time I let her die permanently :( It was sad, we spent alot of time killing together and I miss her familiar voice and footsteps behind me... but this new girl (forgot her name already) is deadly with spells! A bear scared the @!@#& out of me by leaping at me out of the brush earlier, I reared back in fright fumbling for my trusty enchanted mace then watched in amazement as the bear flew over me, hit the ground with a thud and rolled down the slope dead with an Ice Shard stuck through its belly! Awesome !! :D I like her... she might be a keeper! She seems to like Cold Elemental magic a bit too much maybe though :)

Lydia. Her Heavy Armor, Sword & Shield compliments my Light Armor, Archery very well. Note that by level 20 I had to use the console to 're-level' her as she was becoming useless due to being fixed at the level I first got her. I have to do that like every 10 levels now to help her keep up. Note first time I did it her Health went from 170 to 354.

If I was on the console I suppose I would have to be very careful as to when I add a follower and be sure to add a new one (that I just met) ever 10 levels.

I don't know if this is a bug or by design, but is sux.

Really? I thought followers leveled up with you like in fallout 3? That does kind of svck but I guess it's good for people who abuse the companion system by using them as tanks. :flamethrower: :ahhh:

I was using Jassena and I accidentally put an arrow into her back while the falmer finished her off. Ugh. She was giving commentary on the Dwemer technology, now I have no tour guide.

I only get ones I don't like, like the female nord that brawls with you in some inn and a guy by the bridge in Morthal.

I brought Lydia along but I found myself babysitting too much, worried that she'd die.

I like them expendables.

I'm using Jordis on my breton rogue. Like her comments a lot.

My nord necromancer is accompanied by Eola. They fight for the first pick of corpses :hubbahubba:

Im using Vigilance (i think that's his name) the dog you buy for 500g near that dwemer town. He fits in nice with the RP of my barbarian.

Kharjo because he's one cool cat that keeps me cool under pressure and in the heat of battle. He also doesn't mind to shoulder my burden unlike someone *cough* Lydia *cough*.

Kharjo is my main man.. Have had him around from about levels 10+ (now 57). Sent him home once and the road just got lonely.

This is news to me, too. http://www.ign.com/wikis/the-elder-scrolls-5-skyrim/Followers
Wow I guess I need to find a new follower. Lydia is level 8 compared to my 45...

Erandur, because I was so impressed with how much he tore enemies up in the Nightcaller temple :gun: , that I had to eventually go back and recruit him despite me being an assassin.

He basically cleared the entire temple by himself. I barely did anything. I ended up just eating popcorn and watching.

I stopped using a companion once I was able to conjure dremora lords.

When I was using them though, I kitted out Golldir with a full set of ebony and a soultrap mace to collect soulgems for me.

My biggest issue with him, though, is that he fancied himself to be more of an archer than a tank.
