Who is your companion?

Post » Fri Apr 08, 2011 5:39 am

My character, Daza, an argonian, has a Khajiit CM companion called Cshana, although I roleplay her as his lifelong friend.

He also has a clannfear called Wilson as a pet who he rescued from a goblin pack when it was a hatchling. Although Wilson tends to stop and admire the scenery quite alot. Which can be annoying.

Gurkog the Orc bumps into many friends and will spend hours conversing with them until he realizes that they are actually trees and he drank way too much ale......

EDIT: Forgot to mention his horse, Knucklehead. My drunkard Orc has not figured out how to use reins and instead nudges the poor horse in the right direction with his fists....thus the earning the given name.

My character Katrina travels with her friend Vilja, and Fenir the wolf.

Strolling the countryside, we usually always travel together, but sneaking into old ruins, forts, and caves, we leave Fenir outside the entrance to stand guard. :toughninja:

None, I hate companions. I don't even like horses. Although I wouldn't mind the mounts so much if they didn't beam around with you when you fast travel.

Interesting fact, you can buy all the horses you want, but if you never actually mount one, they wont fast travel with you. Sadly, you have to (as far as I am aware) mount that nag at Weynon Priory along with Martin and Jauffre to get them to follow you to Cloudruler. If that's a spoiler, welcome to five years ago.

Even in FCOM its difficult to get that nag killed off afterward. It even survived an "accidental" fall from Dive Rock. /sigh > ` > disable

Ugh, hate escorts, hate companions, I'm an adventurer, not a babysitter.

Gregreo doesn't travel with companions. If he has them, they live in his home with his wife. He'll only take the Jemane brothers with him on adventures as they're the only ones in the whole posse that can't be killed.

I haven't had the chance to do much with mods and such, as I had the console version, then my PS3 broke so I can't play anymore. But in the context of RPing and using the game world as a base for fanfic and the like, I think J-T would hang out with Amusei and Methredhel. He has a soft spot for Argonians, and he'd find Meth to be a worthy sometimes-rival. If I had access to mods and things, I'd give J-T a tamed Minotaur Lord companion. He's pretty good at illusion, so he might be able to enchant an amulet with a spell to keep them from going on rampages and make them a bit smarter. It's J-T's belief that minotaurs are another Beast Race, so he'd feel some solidarity traveling with them. Plus he likes the eye candy...>_>

Also, somewhat like Acadian does, I justify my role in things by having J-T being a worshiper of Rahjin and Baan-Dar, the patrons of thieves and bandits in the Khajiiti pantheon. I use save files to "intervene" if something goes wrong, (like accidentally falling down a mountain...) and have quest markers be something similar to dowsing. He gets "feelings" about places when he runs his claws over the map, and stuff like that.

My latest character http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/subrosa_florens/oblivion/Oblivion520.jpg helped out Ushnar. In return she found herself the recipient of a new pet, whom she has named Bean Sidhe. I am not sure how it will work out, but she obviously likes her new dog.

i had close to a full set of the permanents:
dark brotherhood, 2 mages, 1 kotn, a dog, and then due to a glitch, another kotn, adoring fan.

it was fun, didn't have to lift a finger. but keep in mind that alliances are based on alignments. so i find the mages and the DB follower constantly at odds. worse, is when we had legal problems and the palace guard got involved. soon, it became a lot of micro, trying to get them to stop killing each other. a lot of mass invisibility, calm, etc. but in the end, i had to save after EVERY fight where they were not trying to kill each other afterward. further, some dungeons with tricky ledges caused some of the them to get launched into lava. more complications arose when i couldn't remember how many were following me. . . was one missing because they were dead, traveling en route or stuck in a cave? bountys appearing on a stray spell or arrow led to hilarious but detrimental consequences.

horses made this worse, more variance on arrival times and limits on who else could follow me. i think max is near 8.

maybe a few are good. but in the end, more than 1 or 2 will really wreak havoc on. . . everything: your time, nerves, micro management, path finding, save management, spell management, equipment blah blah blah i walk alone.

I use the mod "Cyedinhal pet shop" so my character can wander along with a white tiger named Dahana. I personally don't like human companion, and animal companion fit with my character, a ranger.
But for my assassin character, I don't use a companion because she works alone.

Well when i travel to Shivering Isles i always have a Dark Seducer and a Golden Saint accompanying me, we clear dungeons together, the problem is that I can not travel to Cyrodiil with them, so i have two summons, that i can use in Cyrodiil or in Shivering Isles when i want, the Dark Seducer and Golden Saint summnon, i can have a Dark Seducer for 60 seconds and a Golden Saint for 120 seconds.
Well when i dont have someone in cyrodiil i can call an Arcane University Student because i'm the Arch-Mage or a Dark Brotherhood Assassin...

Lothran didn′t have a companion for a long time. He roamed alone through Cyrodiil and the Shivering Isles discovering mysterious places and collecting treasures. Then he came in contact with Buffy.
It is now proven that a dark elf and a wood elf can get along just fine, and a better companion he cannot think of :icecream:

And Lothran has so many wonderful stories to tell of his travels throughout Cyrodiil! He knows all about the snowy lands between Bruma and Skyrim, where Buffy has only rarely visited because of the cold. She is privileged to call the dark elf her friend.

My mage character has a fox "familiar" she calls Bischen. He's not that powerful but he keeps her company and has eliminated some hostile wilderness creatures when she doesn't want to be bothered. Only a magical fox could take down a wolf, haha.

My assassin used to hang with Stoker Wolf, but he tends to steal her thunder. Lately she's found Varon Vamori (courtesy of companion share & recruit) a worthy companion. She also likes Vilja, but mostly at inns and when shopping.
