Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 2:11 pm

i recovered my gamertag at my friends house and played crysis and my rank was 1 and i thought the rank was all in the hardrive but when i recovered it on my xbox my rank was at 1. why did that happend, this game is BS when it comes to recovering the rank, it cant just be like halo or gears it has to be gay like that. now my whole hours that i have spend getting all the way to lvl 33 were all a waste.

Well that's kinda your own fault then. Sorry to say, but it is. It probably overwrites your online stats as soon as it doesn't find any multiplayer savegame on the harddrive.

Same here guys! Happened to me few hours ago!!! I think i was running my 'online profile' from USB drive on my own console...(from USB so i could transfer and play on another console. I thought everything is stored online!!! What crap!!! (I'm afraid to say). I just tried to transfer all Crysis content onto my 360 hard drive, went to play the game and the game reacted as if it was the first time in playing it!!! ALL STATS WENT, Campaign and Online! Such bull!!!

Its not our fault whats so ever!!! It should store everything online!!! Not on ya frikin hard drive!!! It would be expected as Halo, Call of Duty, Gears store your progress automatically. How the hell we supposed to know! BULL!

Most other games store your single player information on the hard-drive (Call of Duty, Halo, etc) so when you recover to another console it shows 0% completion on these parts but the online section is retained (Rank, Create-a-Class, unlocks, etc). I recovered my profile a few days ago on my upstairs XBox (have two in my house) and I noticed that the Crysis 2 stats weren't fully transferred. I did keep my rank, dog tags, etc. however all my Create-A-Class were wiped (although I still had all my unlocks, I just had to go rebuild all of them). Recovering to my downstairs XBox later in the day it kept the same Create-A-Class that was on the XBox already, not the newly created upstairs classes.

Because this was within the last patch period, I would think that it uses the same system to do online backup for mine as it did for you. In which case I believe it may be an issue with the online backup server that handles XBox Live online statistics. I know yesterday it was not saving progress that was achieved in multi (for example, if you got 200 kills while playing and turned off your XBox and turned it back on, those 200 kills would be gone). This could be related to a similar issue if the online backup server is still having issues. Crysis 2 *should* have online backup, at least for the multiplayer portion, as it did not that long ago under the same current patch.

Recovering your profile should transfer limited information to another 360, most commonly online data / multi data as that is the most common reason people recover their profiles. It works with every other online game, and it has worked in the past with Crysis 2. They also mentioned they lost their ranks when they re-recovered them to the home 360. That denotes an issue with the Live servers, although whether it is Crysis-specific or Live overall I am unsure (the ranking issues that were happening yesterday were reported on other games, such as MW2, which makes me think the main Live servers are having some hiccups)
