No, best I prefer to find things myself, not be told where they are. Even if I didn't, I'd use the wiki anyway - it's free, it's more in-depth, and it's more likely to actually be accurate.
I agree about finding things for myself. I normally playthrough, then go back over with the guide for the things that I have missed.
I think it depends on what console people play on. With FO3 I got it on console first and had the guide to hand then played it again on PC with mods etc and then used the wiki.
No. Great idea, but I want everything to be a surprise. I want to fire up NV in six months time and there still be things I haven't seen or places I haven't explored. That's the whole point of adventure games for me. If I get stuck... then I just work at it for weeks until I get unstuck.
In my experience, especially wiht FO3, I've found that when I play a few months later I still discover something new, even when using the guide. Working at it for weeks is great, and at least the guide will be there when you really need it.
Ehhhhhh. I'm debating. I may just use The Vault. But with crafting, cooking and the like in this game, those charts it may supply could prove invaluable.
Couldnt agree more. With skills to learn Im going to want to make the best of my resources, making sure i can create the most powerful weapons etc.
No i dont think the book is worth its money.
Really? I seriously doubt you will be able to get the full experience out of the game without a guide. There is just too much to do.
Yes, and I won't open it up for as long as possible........2nd or 3rd play through. BUT I hope it has a good index so I can get to the exact info I need so I don't stumble onto something I don't wanna see yet (oblivion guide wasn't good with that though).....and I want the CE guide for NV.
I thought the index was pretty good in the FO3 guide. The Collectors Edition Guide looks awesome. Although I don't exactly know what extras are included in it lol. I hope its background information and things like concept drawings etc, as is normally the case with collectors editions.
Why get the guide when there is the wiki.
Because its more reliable, ready to hand and easier to use.
