So whose tired of hearing Garrus and Ashley Williams?

Post » Thu Jan 21, 2016 9:10 am

Yup I recognised it too but I couldn't recall exactly who it was in Skyrim. I had to check Imdb and apparently she played Aela the Huntress, Legate Rikke, Adrianne Avenicci, Laila Law-Giver and Queen Potema amongst others.

Damn, I would never have known Mr Codsworth was him, it doesn't sound like him at all :o

Am I the only one who initially thought Codsworth was voiced by John Cleese and Paladin Danse sounds like George Clooney?

I knew they wouldn't pay for George Clooney but I really thought it was John Cleese, especially after his voice appearing in ESO.

Maybe I've watched way too much Monty Python but I never thought that about Codsworth. I do agree with you about Danse though, it was the first thing that came to mind when I heard him speak.

i hadn't recognized Garrus's or Ashley's voice in any of the npc's , i did recognize " something familiar" in sole survivor voice , and looked up who it was

too bad they only took voice actors from mass effect , they could have taken companion controls , mass effect has amazing companion controls

Not nearly enough snark in Codsworth voice to be John Cleese :)

I hardly talked to Danse in my current playthrough (he was bugged for a long time) but I see where you get George Clooney from, let's just hope he is not going to offer me a Nespresso.

I'm not a fan and not an englishman so it's an honest mistake...haven't talked to Codsworth much either. A friend of mine was also surprised when I told him that it's not Cleese and Strong is Goku. :)

True about the snark and I don't know about him hustling Nespresso :P

It seems just about 1 in every 5 males has Garrus's voice and it annoys me. He has a VERY distinct voice. I keep waiting for someone using that voice to tell me to "Meet me at the bar." :( Or something. Garrus is my bro from the ME series... it is sad to hear his voice everywhere.

Now Ashley Williams voice... can't say I have heard that one yet. I might have already but her voice is not so distinctive to me.

Its interesting that FO4 has 3 voice actors that bioware employed across three of the more successful games they ever made. (in my opinion anyway)

So far I've only heard her voice from a variety of generic NPCs within the Brotherhood of Steel. Which strangely enough is quite fitting considering her character in Mass Effect.

Is it me, or is her voice acting a bit more "even" in F4? For a while, I couldn't reconcile Desdemona's voice with that of Adrianne Avenicci (or, for that matter, with the voice of the female Norn player character from GW2).

Because without mass media and mass communication, it's easy for small and isolated communities consisting primarily of family to maintain their own dialects and speech patterns over the centuries.

But I'm just glad this game doesn't suffer from Jim Cummings. That voice is everywhere, and it doesn't help that the role I associate him with is Razoul.

Bioware and Bethesda share a lot of voice cast I've noticed, but really a lot of those voice actors are just all over the place. Jim Cummings is a good example - he's one of the generic ensemble VAs for 4, though, but he was in Skyrim and I think every Mass Effect game.

I would also very much like to know how that works. I'm not buying "isolated communities."

You don't need to be an anthropologist to see it in today's world. We still have a ton of different accents and dialects even in developed nations: look at the various English accents across the US and UK alone, and that's before adding in foreign tongues still spoken despite centuries of habitation. Surely, by now, everyone should be speaking RP or some sort of southern drawl, right? Drop a few bombs, turn 300 million people with mass communication into a handful of million in scattered communities with no way to easily communicate without having to travel, and isolated accents thrive even better.

Ashley Williams was voiced by Kimberly Brooks. She does a lot of BOS female voices in FO4. So if you hang out at the Boston Air Port or on the Predwyn your going to hear her a lot. If you avoid the BOS you won't hear her much at all.

Well having just triggered a part of the MQ that has more BoS showing up, I came across a scribe, knight and scientist from a nearby vertiberd. All three BoS had Ashley William's voice lol. Fitting considering her military background in Mass Effect.

I think Tinker Tom of the Railroad should have been voiced by Garrus's voice actor. That way he could tell me he needs to do some "Calibrations"

So, I learned that Paladin Danse is the same person who voiced Colonel Burton.

Now I have to use him as a companion all the time.

Of course, no named NPC in the entire game sounds like they are from Massachusetts....only generic NPCs, usually settlers.

Why do you think the BoS rushed to the Commonwealth? They're there to confiscate all Nespresso machines the Institute has been hoarding!

All the voice actors are listed on http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4741306/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast. Codsworth was voiced by Stephen Russell.
