Whould you like to see your legs when you look down?

If my character were fat, even though he wouldn't be able to, he'd sure like to see his legs when looking down (not to mention other, more vital, parts).

Nope! They'll only get in the way and obstruct my vision. Might as well make it so we can see our nose too! And our hair!!

You're legs are going to obstruct your vision if you're looking forward? :whistling:

Anyway, I don't think it is a great idea myself. If you, as a person, look down; you can see from your torso down to your toes. In order for you to see your legs, I think that you would have to be able to see the rest of your body. And that would take too much time to do. Would be cool, but at this point is impractical. (Maybe for the next TES)

Good idea, but it would be awkward to just see your legs.....

Actually that is exactly what I want. Shouldn't be too hard I think. If Bethesda can spend two years working on the looks of dragons that we'll probably only see during the main quest I say they could do this as well. With all the money they've made from Oblivion and the Fallout games it shouldn't be a problem to get some people working on it.

I doubt it's going to be in though, but I don't think it's that big a deal. I'll just play in third person like I'm used to, at least the animations will be better than in Morrowind and Oblivion ^_^

I definitely want this, Dark Messiah had it and it never obstructed my vision in any way.
If Bethesda would improve on that... Perfect.

Yes, Mirrors Edge stylee!!

It seems odd that you can see your hands but no body.

And this is a repeat thread but not for a month or so.

English isn't your first language??? What the hell does ortographic mean??? Ha!

Considering BGS is apparently one of the few companies that still doesn't show you your legs when in first person, YES. This is the only thing that has seriously bothered me in TES and Fallout.

It amazes me how the "immersion" crowd on this forum can talk about how anything and everything can break immersion, but somehow being a pair of floating arms and eyeballs is not immersion breaking.
And for anyone who thinks it will obscure your vision I recommend you go play, thief 3, left 4 dead, halo 1,2,3, Dark Messiah, Mirror's Edge, and countless other first person games that give you full body awareness. It does not mess with your vision at all.

I know for some people this doesn't matter, but it's a big deal for me. It's not a "game breaker" but it's one of my few annoyances.

Well, I like the idea too. And I would love to have it implemented and see the whole body. But it's not important right now and I don't think they have enough time. I would still like to see it in a later game, or maybe in DLC.

I think the small boost to immersion is definitly worth the tiny bit of extra coding. It would be a very nice thing.

No thanks. Any game where I can see my legs, it never looks natural at all (to me anyway).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBNyIATkSE4 - first bad, then good
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_0fnl26Z5c - quick Arma2 demonstration
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cG7SNTDCQyQ - Arma2, longer and much more immersive. Shows headbob, freelook, and spatial body awareness the way it should be. No way nobody can call that intrusive. View all of them if you can.

It adds not only a little to immersion, it adds everything. I just hate it if I switch to 3rd person and the posture doesn't even match what I see in 1st person. Then there is these hands weirdly sliding across the screen, wtf is that? Immersive? Hell no, it completely ruins the whole feeling. In FONV, where you aim your weapon according to your crosshair doesn't even remotely match up with where the barrel points. Considering FO4 will probably build on Skyrim, why not get it right in Skyrim as well?

Really can't understand why some is actually against it... Jeez :P

If it's done well I'd appreciate it, but I wouldn't mind it if you couldn't see them.

I don't think it is necessary but I would not really care either way. If they do, do it it has to be done well so you can see the armour/pants that you are wearing.

Yeah, look at the last Arma2 video I posted a couple of posts ago. Looking over your shoulder you can even see the top of your backpack or radio. Of course we'd need freelook for that to happen. Guess that's not important either, can always use 3rd person, right? Newsflash, some of us hate 3rd person to the guts, why shouldn't we be able to look in a different direction from the direction of travel?

I would like it for that immersive touch. However, I would vote against it because before long a better bodies mod will come out and my habit of playing a (mostly) naked berserker will become ever so slightly more disturbing.

No opinion tbh ( yep I know I just posted an opinion that I have no opinion :shocking: ).

If it's in it would be a nice touch, but I don't need it and a tad worried about the physics and item drops combined with this.
I.E if a scroll, dagger, uest item rolls down into some awkward spot and the only way to get it is to stand on top and search, would the legs get in the way.

Yes I would.
It would add much to realism that TES aims for and wouldn't ruin my vision at all.
Also, it would remove that strange feeling that I'm a floating head with two arms.

Those are good videos posted to prove that having feet and body can be done properly. Is it laziness on Bethesdas part in not doing it? Do we have too many clothes, armour etc for them not wanting to do this. I guess this is why they don't want to do it, but I rather give up voice acting for this. :D.

You know what I miss? Having the kicking or Kung-Fu style in combat that was in Daggerfall. I loved it when you kicked in Hand to hand combat, it was just not puches. I hope they have kicking in Skyrim. Would be even nicer if we could plant our punches and kickes as well. I guess that is for a different topic. Sorry. Hmmm, idea to make a new post. :P

I don't care. I do not play in 1st person.

But for those who do, I guess it would be nice. *shrugs*
