Whould you like to see your legs when you look down?

Post » Wed Jul 07, 2010 10:17 am

You *might* see a hint of cleavage, but that's pretty much it. Unless you go naked and use a mod while having a dire desire for that. No problems for the devs to move the eyes a bit forward so you see over them. If you wanna see boobs and don't have for grabs, there are better sources. Like, I don't know, google images probably? Jeez...

Your engrish is excused, and I would very much like to see my legs when I look down. No hair/helmet/nose whatever, since in real life you tune those out, so the realism would be lost. Of course, seeing cleavage when I look down isn't necessarily a bad idea... :celebration:

One thing that I don't believe has been mentioned is that, if it isn't implemented correctly, it could end up being problematic to modders when it comes to creating custom armor.

No, this isn't HALO, if you wanna see your legs go play that. It's not like this is a life sim. Sorry, was just reading the six/Marriage thread. I think if they could pull it off nicely then it should be in. HALO did a great job with it. And whoever thinks that being able to see your legs would obstruct your vision, must have a horrible time walking down the street.

I've seen a few people wanting this.
I play first person all the time, and i don't care if i can see my feet or not.
In my opinion there is no need for it to be there....i mean to you look at your feet when your fighting etc,i wouldn't.
I mean honestly how many times in first person ( while immersed in the game ) did you actually keep looking down towards your feet.
I dont remember doing it.
If it's there ,then fine,if it's not, then fine. But just my view it doesn't do anything for me.
I first person your more focused on your hands,so swimming animations, jumping etc,i would prefer that in first person.

I would when I'm getting kocked around. If you get paralyzed or something, and get kocked on your [NUMMIT], you'd expect your legs and feet to be there in front of you. In Oblivion, it is quite annoying how certain things knock you to third person from first, because it would ruin the illusion that you're more than just a pair of floating arms.

Depends on what shoes I am wearing :)

Honestly, it really doesn't matter to me whether or not I see my legs in game

How about if the 7000 steps was like this, and there were other balancing stuff you had to do in the game?

I'd much rather see my own feet rather than some stupid crosshair. How is crosshair immersive? I want it to fade away unless I'm near activation or in combat at least. It's the most annoying little thing for me :P

Yes. The PC should have legs, and should not be able to stand on a cliff, swing the camera around, and be floating 2' off the edge over the drop.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xh7KaB50r2M&feature=related IMO did a grand job with the PC's body, and had one of the most believable "jump" actions of any RPG that I've played.

Mirror's Edge, at least shows how it should be done; but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vijesrjURT0, the 3rd person animations really need to be perfected; (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeA-386t38Q).

I don't just want to see my characters legs, I want to see my characters whole body from the chest down.
Also, I fail to see how having the PC's legs visible could possibly block your view in any serious way. If your legs are blocking the view of something on the ground, then simply take a step back.

Like many, i would like it but it is not important to me. Halo had it and i loved it, however there is more customisation to skyrim meaning it might be more difficult.

Don't care. Most games that I have seen do this do not look completely natural. The animation is always different from when I look at my own legs.

It really adds an extra sense of immersion, that is why I want it in the game, though it isn't necessary. Games that do it well include Mirrors Edge, Mount & Blade, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and if you play these games you will find it is no where near as immersive without the ability to see your body and legs. For example in M&B you can see your entire body giving you the ability to see an arrow protruding from your chest etc...

I am sick and tired of playing a damn floating camera all the time! So that a loud YES on my behalf. I am still angry that the only good Oblivion mod that did this died a couple of years ago. It is a buggy mess at the moment.

Not the first thread about this ,but i will reply here as well, yes, this would be extremely good and immersive if done right, just look a Dark Messiah, was made some time ago already and they handled that bit perfectly, and it doesn't obstruct your vision at all like some people are saying, maybe only if you want to spend your time looking at the ground.

NO MORE FLOATING HEAD, PLEASE!

Is it so difficult to implement in the game?

This is all about immersive. A better experience in the game. More Realism!!! For those who don′t like to see your legs, an option to turn off the viewable body would be fine!

But unfortunately, i think there will be no viewable body in Skyrim... My hope is to find some mod for it, like this one for oblivion:
