Morihaus is described as a demigod, and in the Song of Pelinal, as the son of Kyne. What strikes me about this figure (aside from how little we have on him) are the titles 'the winged bull' and Breath-of-Kyne. Something about 'the winged bull' always bugged me, like it was a loaded term, not just an honorific, but there was really nothing to follow on it.

In the course of skyrim, we come to understand the basic structure of the dragon tongue and the dragons' names. Alduin is Al-Du-In, Destroyer-Devour-Master; Paarthurnax is Paar-Thur-Nax, Ambition-Overlord-Cruelty, (yikes.) Their names are shouts, triadic in nature.

I was noodling on this while booting up Skyrim to see what else I could find in game texts (because damn is this game a treasure-trove for lore) when Morihaus popped back into my head, specifically the title Breath-of-Kyne. Breath-of-Kyne: Su'un-Do-Kaan.

Was the demigod 'winged bull' a dragon? Su'undokaan.

I was wondering if any of the older lore-buffs would be willing to weigh in on this, if you find it plausible, etc; it's fairly speculative, but it's been gnawing at me.

Morihaus was an actual winged bull. However, that doesn't make him not a dragon, given that dragons are really just one of the ways of seeing gods. There was a thread about it a while back, though I can't recall where. As I remember it, Dragons were the Altmeri version of the et'ada, giants (and/or flying snow whales?) the Nordic, and bulls the Cyrodiilic. I don't think there's any definitive proof, but its a nice symbolic connection.

Morihaus was an et'ada like Pelinal, and et'ada can take any form they want to my knowledge.

Hm. Never thought of it that way. Giants, dragons, narwhals ... all former et'ada, before the myriad cultural descents. Nice brainteaser. Yet to dwell on it.


For the slightest, giggliest moment, I expected something like "Morrie's House of Wings."

I thought Y'ffre put a stop to that (for the trapped et'ada) and that's why Giants and Dragons can now be easily separated from one another.

Either way, I'm convinced minotaurs are the children of Morihaus and St. Alessia.

It's a juicy theory, and that line from Pelinal in his Songs is suggestive.
But what about centaurs?

Speaking of which, I just got around to reading OP's post. Good stuff! I like it. There have been theories that damn near *everyone* was a Dragon (and they might be right), but I find this one most compelling.
