wht? no freeroam after ending?

i figured fallout new vegas would be like fallout 3 since they added freeroam after the dlc broken steel i thought they would of done the same whit new vegas on the game itself but when that question came up saying thier was no turning back i thought it was talking about which side you wanna choose not that oh hey once you click yes you cant no longer free roam and the game comes to a end... i mean yea i saved my game a few times but only when they was lower lvl now i'm stuck and cant play my lvl 22 that i put about 25hrs into and now i can only play from my last save which was at a lvl 9 when the turning point of which side your gonna pick... could we possably get a more clear message next time or maybe add free roam insted of ending it off compelely because now i have to restart everything over and i just lost hours of game time and going about doing quest and finding everything. i dont know if i'm the only one to make this mistake or not but be nice if they could clear it up some more so people wouldnt make this mistake, but then again its kinda my fault for not saveing as often. if anyone knows a way to where after you click yes on it and still freeroam please let me know would save me tons of hours of trying to redo the hole quest line and side quest.

Load an earlier save? Stop crying because this game, just like 10000 others, ends after the story finishes.

Wow, that's really hard to read. Perhaps add some returns between some of those sentences? (Or, in jerky internet parlance.... "Wall of Text crits you for over 9000!")

On to the topic -

Yes, the game ends. Yes, we knew this. Yes, there have been several threads a day about it for the past week. (And several a week for a few months before the game was released.)

Most people in those threads are in favor of it working that way. And it's a good plan in this case, because the designers have a clear storyline in their minds, and it has a planned end. They don't have any plans to make a continuation, especially because (since FO:NV has much more varied possible endings) there wouldn't be any way to alter the world to fit whichever ending you picked. Not without a massive amount of work.

Also..... your only other save is way back at level 9? Apparently (I haven't gotten there yet) the game puts up a big warning saying "Once you go past here, there's no return!" Maybe it would have been good to make another save at that point....

(Personally, being paranoid about losing saves, I keep a rotating set of 10+ saves. So right now I have saves going back a couple hours of play, at 10-15 minute intervals.)

but when that question came up saying thier was no turning back i thought it was talking about which side you wanna choose

If it wasn't obvious when you fail "Don't tread on the Bear!" or "Beware the Wrath of Caesar!" you can no longer do those quests.

could we possably get a more clear message next time or maybe add free roam insted of ending it off compelely because now i have to restart

You mean the massive wall of text that you never saw before in the game except for the start that asks if you want to turn on hardcoe or not. I.E an important game changing decision?

In my first play through I had a total of 100 saves (max allowed on Xbox), saved 250+ times... :D
