Why Alchemy will be Awesome

While I cant say for sure yet... it is my guess that a number of the spell effects from Oblivion will not be present in Skyrim

Silence / Dispel / Fortify ___ / Burden / Shield / Water Walking / Weakness to ___ / Drain ___ / Damage ___ / Reflect Damage / Reflect Spell / Spell Absorption

^ some of those will be missing from spell-casting i believe

It is my bet that u can mix and match ingredients to make waay waaay more than 85 potions / poisons (some effects which won't be found in spell-making)

Would u like to silence, drain the stamina, and do burn damage to an enemy all at once???

U wont be able to create a 1 spell that can do this but you can create a poison that will accomplish this

In oblivion... spells did pretty much everything alchemy could do

In skyrim.... i predict alchemy to be a lot more versatile + powerful than the 85 spells

They done so with other areas of the game, makes sense alchemy needs more reasons to survive than makeing magic n health potions. Now spells only have one effect where as potions have many. I'm not sure it will be like op said but time will tell.

Gut feeling + small amount of questionable logic

Conjuration should have around 14 spells----85 / 6

Destruction---- different types are Runes + touch + projectile for 3 different schools

nvm... scratch that

I dont know if those effects will still be in the 85

What I do know is that i will not be able to mix, match, and create my own spells to my heart's desire

Mixing, matching, and combining effects will still be possible in Alchemy however---- making it more versatile and probably more powerful too
