Why do all the women look so... old?

Post » Thu Mar 21, 2013 1:03 pm

That's something I've noticed a lot over the last year of playing this game. All of the women look like they're in their fifties and sixties, even the ones who are supposed to be young.

It's the same for the men, I suppose, but it's not quite as bad because men are supposed to look chiseled and distinguished.

Right now, I'd actually be willing to pay for a DLC that fixes all of the faces to look more pleasant. lol

Seems a pretty decent spread of ages to me. You have some really young, some 30s and 40s, some old 50s, 60s. *Shrugs* Only really matters with the human races, good luck figuring out the age of one of the Mer women.

Edit; And in my opinion its nice and refreshing, instead of having a game full of pretty young women, that would just be boring I think.

I think your standards are a bit out of whack, OP.

Wasn't there a thread like this a little while back? I think it was you and I who agreed that the only real group missing are teenagers, or at least NPC's that look like teenagers. Maybe that was someone else though.

In a medieval time period, in a crumbling Empire, women aren't going to be hot. The ones that are would be people like Elisif and other members of royalty, not common women who face the harshness of everyday life.

Yeah some one else I believe, as I remember reading that. Tbh the OP seemed almost word for word the same so I actually even checked his posted topics to see if it was his before but nope! Totally a deja vĂș moment though. ^_^

Nearly all the old women in Whiterun look the same.

More variety is nice.

My thoughts exactly. I find it very refreshing not having the world populated by super models. A few games from the last few years have taken this road, kudos to those developers.

I don't know, genetics is genetics. Might age faster for sure but I'm sure there were good looking women who were dirt poor. They just needed a really good shower.

I've travelled a lot in third world countries for work and poor women who live in really tough conditions can still look great.

I agree. Hate the plastic doll look. It's... dull.

The ones who are marriage candidates should at least be pleasant to the eye. Only a few are -- Ysolda, Sylgia, Mjoll, and Lydia.

Seriously, who would want to marry Viola Giordano, or Uthgerd the Unbroken?

I think it's just the Bretons. Every Breton women has wrinkles on their foreheads for some reason.

There are a lot of people who like Uthgerd. I think the women, and the people in general in skyrim look fine. If it bothers you that much there are some mods that will give them more traditionally beautiful looks.

God yes. My Breton characters always have forehead wrinkles! :stare:

She and Faida are the only two female Nords who I've seen look like they are smiling. Every other Nord female look like they are about to cry or are confused.

Jordis both looks and sounds pretty young too. Eh, it's all subjective anyway.

I'm a PS3 user, no mods for me. Otherwise I would have a long time ago.
