Why are all the...

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 3:22 am

So whenever I see an Argonian in this game, I immediately flip and try speaking to them. (I play as an Argonian).

But... Every Argonian I speak to, seems to be a criminal. From the one in Solitude wanting you to set out the lighthouse, his sister threatening to stab you, to a shadwscale remnant. I mean I have found 2 Argonians who weren't criminals, and only one marriageable. Shahvee and Madesi seem to be the winners of the only good Argonians around.

I don't know If I am missing some big Argonian city or something, but has anyone else noticed them almost always criminals?

Well, aren't beast-folk usually shunned and aren't usually treated the best anyway?

I like Argonians, don't get me wrong, but their culture is pretty backwards in terms of morality from the rest of the world. They raise assassins as an honor, for Talos' sake!

Oh man, I cannot wait for that. The Swamp's will look absolutely stunning... So much to swim around in. Dealing with Werecrocodiles will probably be a blast, or even becoming one.

True, I never played Morrowind (Started with Oblivion) but I do know in that game Khajiit's and Argonians were enslaved. I guess I can see why they go criminal, but it isn't improving any views with the people of Tamriel.

Didn't you play Oblivion? Argonians have always been the lowest of the low in the class ladder.

Making a TES game in Black Marsh would really be challenge - the province is so inhospitable to all but
the Argonians themselves. Sure there are big cities in which other races also thrive, but the land is just
so hazardous, toxic and filled to the brim with exotic and deadly predators and insects.

It'd be alot easier to just choose one of the other exotic and great provinces - my money is on Summerset Isle.

Yeah, but it's a long way from Argonia, so i wasnt too surprised. Most of us are back home in the Marsh expanding into Morrowind and trying to do something about Umbriel. Mine is just here in Skyrim to make sure the Empire continues to serve as a buffer between us and the Aldmeri. Long Live the Argonians!!

The Shadow scales, Unfortunately, Don't exist anymore.

And I have always played as the weirdest Argonian, my current one is a Paladin.

Argonians and Khajits are for furries, anyways. Nobody normal plays them.

Thanks for calling me a Furry, sure appreciate it. I do play as one and I am not a furry. I play as them because being a human in every game would get boring now would it? That and their culture is interesting.

An Argonian Companion is actually what I wanted. His location?

The two in the inn? I like them a lot aswell.

All of them at the windhelm docks are nice, I married Shahvee for that reason.

I think a combo of Elsweyr and Black marsh would be good, walking around a swap for 80 hours doesn't sound very fun, but add a giant desert and a rain forest were everyone is doped up on moon sugar sounds awesome.

he is quest related but here you go:

Spoiler
there is a small mining camp called Darkwater Crossing (west of Riften/ East of Ivarstead). Talking to the NPCs there reveals that the local shopowner/fisherman, Derkeethus, has disappeared... can you find him?

exactly where to find him:

Spoiler
he is being held captive in a cave close by, Darkwater Pass, by the Falmer. After saving him he can be both a companion and a husband

super-duper extra spoiler:

Spoiler
get him as a companion and your sneak super high and he might hear some interesting dialogue ;)

Because non-criminal Argonians tend to stay close to the Hist, in Blackmarsh.
Likely, any Argonian as far away as Skyrim probably has a pretty dubious reason to be there since most Argonians choose to remain in Blackmarsh unless they are either taken, or cast out.

Honestly, Skyrim's intense cold and insular culture discourages large communities of productive, mainstream Argonians from settling there. You're going to find Argonians in Skyrim who are desperate, perhaps on the run from something. Bandits and assassins sounds about right - why would Argonians choose to settle Skyrim if they had a choice in the matter? The little Argonian enclave in Windhelm is pretty remarkable when you look at it that way.

Or on a campaign of intrigue and sabotage to the Empire and the Dominion....

It would be fun to have an Argonian game. It would be both the Black Marsh and Morrowind.
