Why are bulls so damned angry all the time?

Post » Thu Jul 17, 2014 2:35 pm

Just watched a video on facebook of bulls attackign people in what looked like Spain. They all seemed to rather enjoy it, despite numerous people being impaled, and even trampled.

But why are the bulls so darn angsty in the first place? Why they so mad bro?

Bulls are very territorial and protective of their mates. They don't want anything near them or their cows.

Other than that, bulls are just like any animal... Put them in a stressful situation and it's going to react violently.

Sounds like you watched a video of a long time honored tradition held in Spain called "Running of the Bulls" or something along those lines. Don't know much about it but I learned of it back in high school. They will block of a streets intersections along a predetermined distance. People gather just outside the barriers and bulls are released to run down the streets. Spectators are allowed, and encouraged, to run along in the streets and see if they can best the speed and ferocity of a bull. Always see videos of people getting severely injured from this on those "caught on camera" sort of shows. I believe this tradition has been accepted and practiced in other places outside of Spain. From what I know, it originated in Spain.

Actually, bulls can't see the color red :whisper: They only see blue and green of the main colors.

Probably cause they've been abused and pissed off right before the run.

I think you nailed it. Bulls, released from isolated captivity, roam the streets in search of a red light district. Being color blind they can not find it. In despiration they succumb to the need to stick their horns wherever they may, in this case unfortunate innocent pedestrians. Who's to say we wouldn't behave the same in similar circumstances?

Thats pretty much what they do, they aggravate the animals so their violent enough in the ring to give the audience a show.

That's why they're pissed, we're mocking them with the red flags that they can't see! They envy our sight and wish to take our lives in the bargain!

Generally, they've likely to have been 'charged up' before hand. Kept in the dark, little contact, then theyre suddenly released into the bright light, hundreds of screaming people, only one way to go. They're reacting instinctively and probably terrified.

The majority of injuries incurred to participants are either due to falling under the bulls, running into stuff and getting gored by an animal thats just reacting on instinct and defending itself from something it perceives to be a threat.

In bull fights, the Bull is subjected to much the same treatment, but is also wounded with spears and the like to both enrage and weaken it. Occasionally, the bull does actually win. But the entire spectacle is slanted heavily in favor of the man in the very, very tight pants.

Exactly. And all they have to look forward to is being tortured in a bullring and suffering an agonising death in the name of "entertainment".

Yup. They react to movement, not color, that's why matadors always wave the cape.

That's not even taking into account the stress they handle in daily life. It's a bull-eat-bull world there. You have to stample pedestrians, fight to the death in the arena with men waving capes (how embarrasing, like trying to seduce you with a handkerchief). Your excretions are criticized, and in supermarkets, they sell your balls as treats!

Not a good time to be a bull.

Maybe the Bulls are not really mad, just trying to get to a quiet place like their pasture. Perhaps their scared. Perhaps they know that they are headed for a long painful torture induced death and they are trying to escape. Only there are all these noisy idiots in the way.

The bulls horn tissue is made up of a secret heat conductive material that nobody knows about. This overwarms the skull causing the braincase to boil, thus rising the blood pressure. That is why you only ever see bulls angry and aggressive in the summertime.

This! Bulls can actually be very passive, affectionate creatures. For the territorial ones? Bulls will always warn you that you are in their territory, giving you a chance to walk away.

Imagine how the poor animal must feel, lots of people screaming in the stands, AND THEN SOMEONE FREAKING STABBING THEM. Plus those bulls don't exactly live in paradise when they are not in the show. Yea, I'll get mad too.

Also they react more to movement then color and they're pretty graceful and careful so the old saying of a Bull in a China Shop is now busted; all thanks to Mythbusters ^_^.

You're all wrong. Bulls are in fact very amiable, civil creatures. They are impeccably polite and would never show rudeness or aggression towards their most hated enemies.

It just so happens that their language is based entirely charging and goring others on their horns. That's roughly how a bull says: "Hello, tis a fine morning we are having. How does the day fare with you, stranger?" A lot gets lost in the translation.
