Why are so many people complaining?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 10:17 am

So far i've put ALOT of hours into Skyrim, and have loved and savoured every single second. I can say without hesitation, this is the best game I have ever played. I am enjoying it a lot more than Oblivion and even Morrowind. I find the guild quest lines to be very good, despite being a bit short (although I havn't done the thieves guild or Stormcloak quest line yet). The game has definitely lived up to my hype, and IMO it's the best in the series so far (atleast better than morowind and oblivion, haven't played arena or daggerfall yet.) So here is my thanks to bethesda and I can't wait to see what else they can come up with in the future. Hoping for an elsweyr game next, Skyrim has made me become somewhat drawn to Khajiit culture. :tes:

Less than 1% of the people who bought the game are complaining, that's a fact.

See? you answer your own question there. "IN MY OPINION". Other people have other opinions. That is how opinions work.

Most of the people complaining are missing features present in the older Elder Scrolls games --- features they knew hot to exploit.

Happy and content people are busy enjoying the game and don't have much to say.

Unhappy ones like to vent.

From which ass did you pull this crap from?
Not to mention that there is a fair chance that there's lot of people who simply ignored Skyrim when they saw what a letdown it is.

Couldn't agree more. I have had only one bug so far, and that one didn't bother me at all. Skyrim is awesome!! I wouldn't say it's BETTER than Morrowind though. I'd say they were both equal, I couldn't decide which I liked better :)

Ah yes I forgot to talk about bugs, so far the only bug i've encountered is the an invisible chunks of water bugs, which takes away slightly from the immersion but doesn't bother me TOO much.

This *is* a fact and unfortunately, they can be loud and sometimes nasty. That's when I stop listening. The best thing to do really is focus on the positive things you want to say and join in on the positive threads to keep them front and center. I found a great thread yesterday about an article where the guy used his Pickpocket 100 skill to take everyone's clothes and they didn't even notice. That was a riot. People are being creative and doing all kinds of funny things and creative things like the girl who did the song from Skyrim. I'm having a great time and many others are too. Just tune out the other stuff. The valid complaints are in the bugs forum, the rest here, not so much. I'm playing the game Bethesda created and if someone else makes a good game with their suggestions, I might play that too. :)

Facts are a funny thing. You actually have to have something to back them up with. I see nothing but an opinion.

With every game you have two basic camps -- supporters and detractors.

Supporters often get labeled as fan boys because they like the game. Detractors, or complainers, often get labeled as whiners because everything isn't done the way they would do it. They want their old game with all the new graphics -- basically.

People that don't fit in either camp often bring legitimate gripes and praises to the table. They are able to see both sides and often explain themselves with more ease. They don't just state X svcks. They can explain why it's a problem and its effect on gameplay.

My previous general statement was directed at everyone who can't "immerse" themselves in the game. They're missing something. They often support their sentiments with references to older titles. They have trouble appreciating new game mechanics.

Back it up with some solid data please, if it's a fact.

BTW, to OP. Ask yourself why you want to complain first, then you'll understand why people want to complain. Your thread is a complaint by itself.

Simple math man, last unit sold number I saw was 3.5 million. 1% of that is 35,000 so as long as.it less than that many people complaining its less than 1%. I'm sure there aren't even 35,000 people active on this forum.

So find me now 35,001 people complaining about it.
