So, why are we in prison this time?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:24 am

The thing about it is about how one can have a background without forcing it down the throat. There is really no hard impression of such prison in Morrowind intro anyways

Yeah, no hard evidence like guards calling you "prisoner" on the boat that's full of guards to keep you and the other prisoner from escaping. Just like there's no "hard" evidence of it in Oblivion.

I don't even recall them calling one a prisoner on the boat, not to mention if it is a "prison" boat, I would expect more prisoners and more security. And like I say, the player could be a secret agent or stowaway looking for a cheap price of a trip for all we know and that Jiub is really the prisoner that the Empire sent to fulfill the story. Beside, it is MUCH more open than being stuck in a that stupid prison cell anyways.

For asking where the toilet is, every body knows thats Tamriels greatest conspiracy. Perhaps this crime even forced us to publicly urinate.

I called a guard a "meanie" after he killed my children for fun. He did not like that so he put me in jail for life.

Just Kidding

My character was visiting his enemy to laugh at him in jail when he fell through the geometry and into a cell.

Instead of the prison idea, how about just being awakened by a NPC on a random road. He tells you about the bandits that just robbed you but you don't remember anything due to amnesia (because they hit you on the head) ? You start with nothing valuable, just some cheap clothes on, which the bandits did not want... You start to remember as the NPC asks ( Your name, your star...etc)

We should start out by being eaten by mudcrabs after character creation. The nords will smash them whilst yelling 'Mudrabs, filthy creatures!" and then procede to take you in. You ask why your there and they reply "Your not a mudcrab, or a filthy creature.By the way, you were being eaten by mudcrabs, filthy creatures." You:"Why were they eating me?" but while saying that you accidently knock over a spoon, they then procede to beat you whilst yelling "Pay with your blood, criminal scum!"
You then start out in the middle of nowhere, scum.

The game does not begin with you in prison as such, instead you are participating in a medievil style Stanford prison experiment. However, the experiment is aborted after 53 seconds due to the sudden infestation of rats.

Wouldn't really call it a tradition, so much as an easy shot at ambiguity for the writers.

Hopefully TESV breaks the trend and puts us somewhere we'd never expect. An origin that would make sense for any kind of character we'd like to create. Why is my holy Paladin of the Nine rotting away in the Imperial Prison?

As per tradition, Skyrim will have to start off with our character in prison. What are your thoughts on the reason for us being in jail this time around? I heard a theory that the main character will be a prisoner of one of the armies of the civil war.

Where was this? Elders Scrolls only shows the vidieo no info on the game or the old one.

Inappropriate beard use. I hope we don't start out in prison AGAIN. It has worn a little thin I next to never commit any crimes in TES.

You can start out asleep while in a carriage headed into Skyrim. You have a dream sequence that serves as a tutorial and character creation. Upon waking up from the dream your character is outfitted based upon how you created your character. The carriage is then ambushed by bandits outside some 1 horse town in the middle of nowhere. You escape to the town and your adventure begins.

Yes, no, maybe?

Perhaps you are in prison because you told the locals you like vacationing in Morrowind better than Cyrodiil.

I prefer taking the family to cyrodiil, the wife and kids get restless when we dont have the option to fast travel.
