So, why are we in prison this time?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:17 am

As per tradition, Skyrim will have to start off with our character in prison. What are your thoughts on the reason for us being in jail this time around? I heard a theory that the main character will be a prisoner of one of the armies of the civil war.

I thought we never get told why we are in prison, doesn't someone usually say "it doesn't matter what you did" or something along that line?

Inappropriate beard use. I hope we don't start out in prison AGAIN. It has worn a little thin I next to never commit any crimes in TES.

We don't have to be in prison. In Daggerfall and Arena weren't you agents for the emperor.

Stole a man's wife, and sentenced to jail time instead of being mauled by wolves.

Prisons are over-rated.

My prediction for the start, is that...........anything but a prison will do.

Technically only Oblivion started you out in prison... Morrowind had you brought as a prisoner and released, but as was mentioned before Daggerfall had you shipwrecked en route to a quest per the emperor.

This game is breaking rules already in how they are doing things anyway... books, VGA announcements, direct sequels, brand spanking new engine, voices in the music... who knows, you might start out as a Daedric prince for all we know!
