Why are shields tourchs and staffs restricted to the left ha

Post » Mon Oct 10, 2011 4:13 pm

So i am left handed and would love to use a sword in my left hand and a shield in my right why is this not possible?
It just does not make any scene at all if it is because you don't want people to have two of each just don't allow two to be equipped besides that I see no reason.
Bethesda please explain why?

They would have to do every combat animation over again for left-handed characters.

Todd has said himself you can wield staves in either or both hands.

They don't want shields in both hands 'because you'd look like a confused turtle.'

They would have to do every combat animation over again for left-handed characters.

This could've been achieved while they were working on the animations for dual wielding. Saying they would need to do every animation all over again doesn't sound like much of an excuse for not doing it. There had better be a more sensible reason for this decision than that.

Look at it this way, how would you sheathe two shields? Athough, I don't see why they couldn't just put in some sort of "auto-unequip" script.

We cant give you one seeing as how they dont tell us everything

And there is always a reason for it not to be there
Bethesda makes games where they have a lot of stuff in it
They have always been a company that wanted to include everything
But they do run into problems..

They could have put in something to prevent a shield from being equipped in one hand if there's already a shield in the other. Then they could have supported a lefty playstyle. I'm a RL lefty.
