Why are Subtitles censored? : Crysis

For unknown reasons I like having Subtitles displayed in games

The voice actors say '****' but the subtitles say '--------------'

Bad Company 2 did the same thing.

Why?

so parents don't complain because most shooter games are played by a big amount of kids
