Why are the Dark Brotherhood trying to kill me? D:

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 10:25 am

I dunno, but that PETA thing has me worried.

I threw a Fireball at a bunneh and some Hired Thugs showed up two minutes later.

Several hours later I electrocuted a bunneh and a Khajiit Assassin showed up.

I wonder what will happen if I make a bunnicle?

Oh, and for those that claim otherwise, bunnies certainly do have an attack animation. I found that out because before electrocuting the last one I cast Fury on it in the hope it would attack the nearby Giant. That backfired when it came after me so bunneh got fried.

well you got the ominous part right! I looked over my shoulders after reading the comment, lol.

You can't see me, can you? *grins*

Ok, that was good. I actually looked over my shoulder out of reflex as I read that.

I have trapped the souls of countless bunnies on my path to becoming a master enchanter.

If I have to atone for that, then I suppose I better re animate the dremora thralls I just put down.....

I got attacked by an Assassin on my way out of Riverwood to Whiterun (level 2). The only dungeon I had done at that point was Embershard Mine. I hadn't touched the love triangle in Riverwood either. Since then, I've killed at least 10-15 Assassin's during my questing around Skyrim.

I just pretended it was someone from my character's past wanting revenge and had tracked me down to Skyrim.

Yeah.. they were after me until I finally got the dark brotherhood quest line. And those first few that showed up were so incredibly tough when I was lower level.

This was neat, but after 130 hours or so in, I wish there was actually something more to it going on.

"What's that? You say you want us to kill this guy that's our last hope of not all being destroyed by a big ass dragon that's eating souls? Hmmm, I don't know...I kind of like this universe. An extra 500 gold, you say? Maybe...well...What? He stole your sweet roll? He will not see another sunrise."

I don't know why, but is anyone else now imagining that the person that hired the Dark Brotherhood was just Alduin in a fake mustache and hat?

Once I had hired thugs after me because I refused a quest.

Ive had hired thugs sent my way for stealing something, at first I was a little confused as I really havent stolen much (seriously there is nothing really worthwhile to steal) however I looked at the name of the note and figured out who sent the letter and figured out it was because I pinched a few malachite ingots from out the front of a mine, however upon confronting the person who sent the thugs he claimed not to know me.

I always assumed that it was the Thalmor, who would perceive a Dragonborn human (or a non-pureblood elf) as a threat to their ambitions.

I thought that too but I have also had Thalmor Justicars come after me as well at one point.

I think its related to you stopping the plot of the Evil dark wizard Keapa, its a whole freaking conspiracy! He secretly funds all the bandits, raiders, the Black-Briar family, He has the night mother bound to him so he can control the DB, he has the thalmor in his [censored] pocket! THE THALMOR. The whole civil war and great war is just so he can get bodies for his army of the damned that will quickly take over all Nirn the PC dosen't stop him. And after Nirn, he moves on to the realms of oblivion, breaking down the walls of reality as he carves his path across the world. How can you even know ehat you do isint in his favor? What if you are just another pawn!?

It's the Talon Company. They want revenge for failing in another universe.

Seriously, it's just a lazy random encounter. I've dispatched 5 or so assassins, with there being no real motive for them being sent. I'd feel much more satisfied if their notes were signed by the NPC who sent them, or at least had a reason based on my actions.

the high class altmer elves would not risk sending a petty human to assassinate the dragonborn :)

They have their own hit squads.

It's because you're a good person.

Bad things happen to good people.

And to neutral people too, I mean I do what I get paid for, or what seems morally correct. Still got those assassins chasing after me, which brings me to the question: If the Dark Brotherhood is in a downward spiral, where the hell are they getting these assassins from?

I was attacked by my first assassin on my way to Morvunskar during the Night to Remember quest. When I saw that the fort Sam Guevenne wanted to meet me at was full of evil mages I assumed the assassin was also sent by him and he was trying to kill me. "What did I do to Sam last night?!" was what I was thinking when I finally found him and I nearly had a heart attack when he suddenly transformed! D:

Of course afterwards I was really confused about why an assassin attacked me since I've never stolen anything or committed a crime or harmed anyone but bandits and wild animals.

Maybe in his spare time, Alduin just sits in his little dragon hole surrounded by candles and human flesh performing the black sacrament?

I like this reason, just go with this one.
