Why are The PC Fallout Owners Knocking Console Owners Ideas?

And if you ask me it'll be better if it stays that way :P a single dev comment in General about DLC or whatever else would surely open a huge can of worms.

Yes, but the main problem are the contracts with console companies and which mods console companies consider appropriate to go on their platform.

As far as modding goes, both of those are virtually guaranteed to be available to you when mods go to consoles. Multiple spawn mods are always popular among mod users and improvements to the settlement system will be legion in this game.



If you were asking as a new feature for the vanilla game, I doubt there will be many official ones. In Skyrim we got mounted combat in a patch, so nothing is impossible.

Absolutely true.


They just avoid sticking their heads up in discussion simply to avoid getting them shot off or quoted inappropriately.



As for console mods (I play on Xbox) I'm sure in time they will emerge as a varying collection of the best

(or most popular) mods that are not too memory hungry, and that's fine for me.



I'm sure Bethesda will release in time DLC and smaller updates that they feel meet the needs of the game


without getting too distracted by a baying mob of forum posters who usually can't agree on anything.

Yes. But that doesn't mean that ALL mods will, or that the console manufacturers won't set standards for what sorts of mods are acceptable.



I'd be shocked to see mods that add six, nudity, the killing of children, make use of script extenders or things like ENBs available for consoles.

At this point, I wouldn't trust installing a single mod on my console even if it were possible. I play Bethesda games on both PC and console and have experienced all of the conflicts, hassles, and issues dealing with mods, and while it can be relatively easy to fix the damage on a PC and get things back to normal, it's not so easy on console where there is no access to the tools (some being mods themselves) to do it.



While I like the fact that Bethesda supports mods for those who enjoy them, I really dislike the attitude that mods are the solution to everything when there are many players who can't, or choose not to, use mods....yes, even on PC.



I'm really glad that the devs didn't listen to the "mods can do that, so don't waste time doing things I don't like" people in Skyrim when they released Hearthfire because it's probably been my most-used DLC on both console and PC....not to mention all the other mods that were inspired by the features it contained with its new building options and modders expanding on the marriageable NPCs.
