Read my second comment on the last page and P.S. Yes it is possible that this happened BUT there is no conclusive evidence on either side of the fence of this argument so lest end it here at a tie and continue on with the discussion at hand.

I agree there is no conclusive evidence on either side of the fence. Still I am hoping for a Legendary two-headed Grizzly in a DLC. Maybe we could encouner some hunters out looking for it, the last "Grizzly."

I agree. That would be cool.

The 'legendary' monsters were okay, but some unique beasts would be interesting. The Thorn quest was fun; I could have stood some more like it.
Think there will be a taxidermist in F4 who can mount trophies for you?

I would like a Taxiddermy added to a future Fallout. I wanted it for New Vegas. I posted the idea a couple of times. One of the things I like about Tactics is that it has unique creatures like http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/File:Roachor_bos0035.jpg.

Would be good to Taxidermy people as well. Keep some of those heads we get form the Fiends.

Because its in the middle of a desert. Bears don't like deserts yanno.
then how to you explain yao gui.they are a mutated species of bear that live in the Capital Wasteland, which is mostly desert along with the rest of the nation.so it would be perfectly reasonable to have a bear species in new vegas

I believe there are (or used to be) bears in norcal so that may be where the ncr got it from, but bears don't tend to migrate to far. They'll go where there's food, but they wont cross hundreds of miles to find some hence none in nevada. We pretty much hunted grizzly to extinction so there's not that many left.

The Capitol wasteland isn't a desert, it just hasn't grown back yet. Thus the "wasteland". In NV, it takes place in an actual desert, that is why it doesn't look as ruined, because its not a wasteland.

Plus, the Yo Guai are mutated from the bares that naturally inhabited the area before the war.

Yes but the bear has two heads. Which means the people of NCR Changed their one headed bear on the pre-war flag to a two-headed bear. I can't see any reason for this unless at some point there was a two-headed bear.

Lets make this clear.

The NCR are from CALIFORNIA, not Nevada. California has a large forested region where there are indeed bears. The region of Nevada that NV takes places is a desert where bears do not inhabit. Clear enough for you?

Due to the number of high-end preditors, I can see why there are no bears in FONV. But still, I do miss taking animal friend perk and seeing that very large muti bear leap out from the left side of moniter to rip into shreds that surprised Talon merc. lol

it would cool if the bears lived around Jacobstown, bears in real life are already dangerous let alone being exposed to radiation and therefore making them even more dangerous. if only Jacobstown was bigger

Why are there no bears or bear mutants? ----

Because the game programmers ran out of time for programming prior to the release date of the game. It's similiar to what happened to the conclusion of the Vance's Gun quest ---> ran out of time for programming.

Much of the Vance's Gun quest is still in the official game code only not finished. If you want the finished version of Vance's Gun quest, simply download the fan made mod where the author kindly finished what Bethesda programmers did not.

Same with Bears. No bears. Simply add them with a mod using the info from FO3.

Actually welsch may have seen dragons. There are numerous writings and news stories from as little far back as the 18th century. Dragons were real my friends Hehe. Anyways the bear thing. I'm pretty sure some could survive in mount Charleston.

I'm pretty sure no Welshman has seen a dragon, either.
That depends entirely on what the Welshman has been drinking.

I know you said not to give any crap about it being a desert but, ITS A FREAKING DESERT! and a majority of Nevada is such, and by your logic Yogi and BooBoo just got up one day and decided to walk hundreds of miles for no reason into a desert. By the way the reason there is a two-headed bear on the NCR flag is because the California flag has a bear on it, and since NCR means the New California Republic it makes sense. Sorry to be a total [censored] bag here but, come on.

I am not stupid. I know NCR is from CALIFORNIA. I know the flag has a BEAR ON IT. I know there could be two-headed bears back in California. All I am asking for is ONE UNIQUE two-headed bear!

Clear enough for you?

Also all those people saying Grizzly Bears don't live in the Desert. They did at one point! They could be found from Alaska all the way down to Mexico.

Google grizzly bear range map and you will http://www.project610.com/files/20090516-grizzly-bear-range.jpg.

Edit: I also said "I am going with its to hot" or something but I really did not care. Now I do and really I am going back to school to learn thins like this stuff.

Then the reason they didnt do that was because its pointlessly stupid to do all the work for a single creature most people will just kill.

There is no point to it, therefore it was never considered.

Why would it be alot of work? I think it would take the smae amout of work as they put into Wild Wasteland Ecounter.
We have unique weapons and legendary creatures.

I posted the idea so maybe they would consider it even if its a next to nothing chance they would even see it let alone consider it.

Also Grizzly Bears used to live in Nevada. So why would it be stupid to have a two-headed bear?

Perhaps the Bears went the way of the Barbary Lions...

Barbary Lions are the lions depicted on crests and flags in Europe. They lived farther north than modern day African Lions and were larger with grander manes. Their impressive and noble aesthetic put them in high demand. Being poached for trophies and carted off to zoos, pitfights, and carnivals led to their complete obliteration from the wild. They were thought to be extinct since the 1920's but there's been some recent talk of certain zoo bred lions being partially descended from captive barbary lions...

Anyway, the point is that perhaps the growth of the NCR led to encrouchment and exploitation of the Duos Oris Urso. In such an unstable environment, any species could become easily dislodged from the eco system before it even becomes established...especially a large, slow breeding carnivore.

How long ago was that though? We made them almost extinct so they are only in cali now.

I don't think there is bears in Nevada. About the flag, incase you don't what a California flag looks like, the NCR probably just took that, which looks practically the same, and put another head on it to represent the circumstances of the environment that they're in.
