Why are there no Vaults in DLCs?

It is kind of odd looking back that Point Lookout, The Pit, Broken Steel, Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Lonesome Road and Old World Blues do not have Vaults in them.

None of them had a Vault location even though many contained large zone maps and many locations within them.

Please put a Vault of a new number in what ever DLC is being planned.

I am so not picky about what happens in that Vault just that it should be there.

There could of been a swampy vault in Point Lookout. There could of been a vault near that steel mill in The Pitt. Broken Steel could of had a new Vault to explore with the presidential tunnels. There is no Vault around that Casino in Dead Money. In all those canyons in Honest Hearts you will not find a Vault. There is no broken Vault half exposed in Lonesome Road. There was no Vault or experiments for Vault-tec in Old World Blues.

Is it possible to get a Vault in the new DLCs for Fallout 4 or is that something that is not done?

Thanks :)

Because the DLCs were each in a specific area that did not include vaults in their back story like the seara modray casino did not really have former vault dwellers, the Big MT didn't either, and if they were in the DLCs they would just take up space and have nothing to do with the plot.

Their isn't really a rule that says "their cannot be vaults in DLCs" its really just time and space consuming to add them to a DLC not focused on them.

Someone on tvtropes speculated that the missing inhabitants of vault 75 would be involved in a DLC .

Most of NV's dlc locations wouldn't have even had Vaults besides maybe The Divide and even then any potential Vault there was probably destroyed even if it did exist.

The only dlc location where a Vault is probably located would be in the Pitt. Remember, we never saw all of the city, just a small portion of it.

There is a private vault in Dead Money, not your standard Vault-Tek Vault though.

ya but it would have taken longer to add vaults to the already large area in the devide and it would not have added to the plot.

Unless the vault is the focus of the DLC, I don't see it happening. Too much work to do on top of the dlc surface area and all that comes with it.

Only Pittsburgh seems to have a large enough population for a variety of people for Vault-Tec to want to build there. The others are remote or sparsely populated locations. If there would be a DLC with a Vault, it would focus on the Vault, you don't go to a Steakhouse to eat salads do you?

Sadly my wife does... :( But I agree. Why I recommend in one of the DLC packs for us to go against vault-tek and make them pay. Fits with the story. Without going into spoilers.

I'm all for more Vaults. They are rather iconic haunts and scav sites. My only stipulation is that it makes sense that it would be there. Do that for me, then go for it.

It's called a "bunker".

As I said in the other thread, there's a limited number of vaults built as they are rather expensive and there's limited resources.

Point Lookout - backwater with little population and a pain to build in.

The Pit - likely has got a vault or two but wasn't part of the story, we hardly got to explore the city and seems most is in a very bad state.

Broken Steel - We went to two military bases, neither seem a good place to build a vault which is for civilians, military will have their own bunkers.

Dead Money - Private resort that hadn't opened and in the middle of nowhere, so not enough people and not established. It did have it's own private vault tho. It was also Big Mt. test ground not vault tech.

Honest Hearts - a national park, tiny population which isn't enough for a vault.

Lonesome Road - missile bunker system and military base, they had the bunkers so no need for a vault.

Old World Blues - secret research lab that was originally built in to a mountain that rivaled vault tech so not a good place to build a vault.

So only 1 location so far makes sense for a vault but we didn't explore it all due to the size of DLCs.

There's no "Vault" in the Sierra Madre, Below the hotel is a sub structure that has a single elevator shaft to access it, and houses the power plant for the resort.

It's a structure called a vault that Sinclaire built for him and his beloved to go to if the bombs dropped, he then set it up as a trap.
