Why are you defending Crytek?

Post » Thu Jun 02, 2011 8:43 pm

I'm reading through all the posts here, and I find it quite disturbing. People are coming on here and complaining that they're game doesn't work, or doesn't have the features that Crytek promised. I think these people have valid points.
Many of you, however, are on here criticizing THEM for complaining. These issues have been known by Crytek since the Demo release. That was a MONTH ago. Crytek has done NOTHING to fix the issues, and you are saying to be patient and wait. How long do you expect people to wait until they get what they paid for?
Are any of you willing to send ME $70+ and wait while I decide if I'm going to give you anything for your money?

AND what exactly has this company ever done for ANY of you, that you would take their side when they are so obviously in the wrong here?
I am so sick of hearing people say "lots of games these days have to be patched". Just because people do it, does NOT make it right! Millions of MURDERS occur daily, so we should allow those killers to go free? Lots of people are doing it!
It is NOT acceptable to release a faulty product into the marketplace, and if you sit back and accept it merely because it's happened before, you dishonor the memory of your forefathers who took up arms, died in political prisons, and published underground newspapers to give us the society we live in today! My grandfather died on the shores of a foreign country, so that I would have the RIGHT to complain when I'm given a shoddy product!
It's this kind of blind acceptance that allowed Hitler to attempt genocide in WW II! Most of the people of Germany didn't agree with him killing persons of the Jewish faith, but because no one stood up and tried to stop him, it was allowed to proceed! BECAUSE NO ONE STOOD UP AND SAID "NO"!

Now I'm not saying that we should compare a faulty video game to the Holocaust, but the underlying factors are the same. If we as a community accept this, it will continue to happen, and we'll see bigger problems on more games, and get longer wait times for the fixes.

20 years ago, as a member of the Gaming Community, I used to get Beta copies of games for free, months before the release date, and I would Beta Test those games, and send my input back to the Devs. They would then fix the bugs, and make changes based on the responses from the Testers, and release a full working game. Patches back then were to add content, or extra missions/features. Nowadays, we pay $60+ for the privilege of being a games' Beta Tester. YES it happens a lot, but THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT!

I am daily grateful that our ancestors had the intestinal fortitude to stand up and DO something when they saw they were being wronged, and many of them DIED for that privilege! You people, however, only have to write a letter or post. Maybe return the game until they fix the issues, but you're not willing to do even THAT!

You act like a bunch of sheep or cattle, shuffling along, where-ever they care to point you, and the only contribution you make to this world is DUNG!

This needs to be that straw that breaks the camel's back! We have to tell ALL the software developers out there that we will NOT accept half-finished titles. We will NOT accept it when you promise us features, then don't include them last minute - with no notification! If we do not stand together on this, it WILL only get worse! The time has come people, to stand together as a community and say NO MORE! Will YOU be a human being with rights and freedoms, or would you prefer to be a cow, going through life being herded where the farmer wants you to go?
THE CHOICE IS YOURS whether you decide to use it or not.

The only people defending are cheap people with crap computers / consoles. And they did not fully experience crysis 1, so crysis 2 is to them what crysis 1 was to us. So atleast the gaming noobs are happy, but the real gamers are very un-happy. I wish hitler was alive so he could do a **** game company holocaust.

People are not defending the bugs, nobody enjoys bugs (they can be funny sometimes)

Comparing bad coding to actual humans suffering (human rights law came about because of things like WWI/WWII) is incredible and really insults thoses you are appropriating.

Estimates of total dead range from 50 million to over 70 million, so you can fanboy rage, yeah i'm sure thats why they sacrificed their lives.

One Gunner, I'm guessing those that didn't play the game are the same ones that criticized Crysis 2 on it's many faults. Boring ass Crysis? Remember the tank battle level? On that big open field? I guess that doesn't compare to driving the APC on that fixed highway level in Crysis 2... Remember the last level of Warhead? When **** got real?

And why do you have SSD drives in a RAID 0 configuration?

I understand the meaning but what you have written is still completly fatuous, asking for a polished product does not require such a large mass of inane babble.

He probably is.

I was wondering the same thing. It makes no sense. Probably some computer novice who decided splurge on the latest hardware without understanding how to use it. I know someone who bought a GTX 580, but runs it on a monitor that only goes up to 1440 x 900 resolution... What a **** waste.

Gunner beefed up his system in anticipation of Crysis 2, realizing only then that he didn't need a 4 chambered stomach to digest it. It turns out it didn't come with a lot of the bells and whistles we thought it would. For us PC gamers, the grass wasn't really greener on the other side. I bet he feels sheepish.

PS, thanks a LOT wizzard for deleting the Cow comment, now my moo is udderly meaningless...

The reason for defending Crytek is because of this--->BEING A TRUE FAN

FYI, Crysis 2 isn't done yet. EA hasn't given Crytek enough time to finish. THAT'S WHY THERE ARE PROBLEMS IN THE GAME.

You idiots criticizing aren't helping. You guys are ignorant and are turning these forums to ****. We don't need **** assholes like you biches. Crytek ALREADY CONFIRMED that they will fix all of the issues, GIVE DX11, GIVE advanced graphical options, AND GIVE Sandbox Editor 3 sometime in the Summer. >_<"

BUT INSTEAD OF SUPPORTING THIS DEVELOPER, you **** assholes just hate and hate. Crytek poured blood, sweat, and tears into this game, and the result is amazing and can be seen with the epic campaign and engaging multiplayer (if it works for you. Servers need to be fixed, they are overflowed and are getting crowded like nobody's business. BUT they are still better than when Black Ops or some **** first came out).

This is almost as bad as hating Zack Snyder because svcker Punch was a flop. The guy is an amazing director, yet he messes up! So what!? One mistake means he's crap? **** that, that's just pure ignorance. And as a matter of fact, since EA is the reason for Crysis 2 not being bug-free and complete, IT'S NOT EVEN CRYTEK'S FAULT for these flaws!!

If you are a fan of Crytek and Crysis, do stay on the forums and CALMLY express your complaints and do constructive criticism....otherwise, GET THE **** OFF, we don't need bichy whiny teenagers crying with hate.

Oh, thanks for quoting my outdated sentiment, and not the one where I postulated a reasonable explation. So your trying to tell me that the soup cans in Crysis 1 are lower res then the SCAR reloading it's grenade launcher attachment in Crysis 2?

TBH I hated that tank battle in Crysis 1. It really wasn't that big of a deal.......it was just a very slow slow SLOW part of the campaign and I couldn't wait to end it. Same goes for VTOL mission (OH **** THAT MISSION! Worst mission of the game).

And while you are at talking about the intense stuff in the first two games, don't forget me to remind you that Crysis 2 is epic in...hmmm....well basically everything after the first few levels....or I should say first few 30 minutes....

No, a true fan CARES. A true fan cares when a game released is not up to snuff by the high standards they have created.

A true fan = more like a fanboy it is :p it doesnt matter.. OP is right, altho his metaphores were far fetched; the man has a point.. people have the right to complain and people should stand up for them selves.. if EA is a such a douche bag of a company, why is crytek still doing business with them? i mean they could easily join bethesda, 2K, THQ and rockstar.. the fact that they arent saying anything about the upcoming patches and fixes is really annoying and is what makes all these people complaining.. IF they said that they werent gonna support dx11 at launch, they wouldve lost a few sales, but people wouldnt have been complaining about all of these stuff.. both EA and Crytek are HUGE douche bags at the moment and they HAVE alot to make up..

and to op +1
